My query over Brad would be lack of flexibility on match day.
I may be wrong, I can't recall when he has pulled a coaching move that has turned a game during a match, a tactical or positional change?

It's becoming criminal, his lack of flexibility.

There's been none SW, along with the very minimum of selections or the lack of dropping players, thats what Im hanging my hat on...................Im hoping he has a strategy to get certain things into place. I still believe when the time comes we'll be right.

When he put Daniel Wells behind the ball against Essendon in 2011 is a big one for me

Without doubt won the game for us

Gee that surprises me. :stern look

Brad Scott is contracted.

in 2014 Brad Scott will still be contracted.

in 2015 Brad Scott will still be contracted.

Discussing getting rid of him is about as useful as debating the existence of the easter bunny & lincoln logs in your sock draw.

This thread is set up for those who want to reject reality to take shots at someone.

He won't do.

We need someone who is in footy now and understands current football intimately. That is not Arch. We need someone with fresh ideas and fresh eyes, not someone who is pals with the current regime. If the club are serious about improving themselves at every level they will not be afraid of making an external appointment, but will actiively persue it, much like they would a new senior coach.

They need to ask what this appointment can bring to the club and how they can help take us to the next level. Simply shuffling the deck chairs will be a cop out.

Any suggestions as to who fits the description, or who you'd prefer?

Yes because a coach has never been sacked mid contract before. :stern look

Name me 1 coach sacked in the year they were extended.

Yeah we are gonna pay him out 3 years.

Its nonsense, it is the complete rejection of the reality of the situation.

I want better assistants.

Crocker, Allison, Watson.

All out of the game for 10+ years.

We need a new fresh panel.

We should go after Leigh Tudor as an assistant. Coached under Lyon so will understand defensive structures, currently Sydney midfield coach so well proven, also coached a VFL flag.

Throw the kitchen sink at him.

We are the first team in 33 years to lose 5 games in a season by less than a goal. Now that's an achievement! Way better than a boring once a year flag.

If we are 6-10 next year do the glass full types think we should replace the coach? Or should we stay with Brad until Luke M has 70 games under his belt before we decide on a complete rebuild?

Your previous post alluded to Scott being coach in 2014 and in 2015. Hence my response. :stern look

I would think, now its just a guess but stay with me here, in 2014 or 2015 the decision on whether or not he's sacked would have to be based on his performance in that particular year.

Discussion about him being sacked being brought up on the back every loss we have in 2013 is pretty simple minded really.

Executor of the most devastating shank by an opponent in NMFC history? Great credentials, but by golly that would be hard to embrace.

If the squad doesn't recover it's mojo and eventually simply doesn't produce for him in spite of liking him as a bloke .. then it's hardly inconceivable he could throw in the towel.

inconceivable, no

Likely, also no.

Not so sure. he still strikes me as having a bit of pride in his trade and reputation. If the squad spirals way off course next season I think it's a possibility.

It wouldn't be in his long term interests to trudge through 2 further years of getting worse just to collect some pay.

You're right it wouldn't.

I think he will do absolutely everything he can to stop that from happening.

its us or nothing really.

We succeed or he's done as a coach.

That's kind of the point mate. It's being brought up because we're losing too often.... a far out theory of mine is that if we lost less, fans would complain less about losing.
I wouldn't sack him but the lack of improvement and the crap he spins in his press conferences isn't doing him any favours. what he said after the carlton game was just garbage. tried to put a positive spin on it. there's nothing positive about it. finals last season, 6 and 10 this season, on track for our worst finish under him when we should be getting progressively better. a very disappointing, underachieving season from an onfield perspective isn't made any easier when you're coach is a broken record after every loss.

we should comfortably make finals next season. will be his fifth year, he has had five years with this group, the challenge was to make a young group progressively better, five years is enough time to be a relevant force in the finals. and the list quality is good enough even this season to be a relevant force in the finals. and we're not there. it's so frustrating and disappointing. and people should be accountable, the coach oversees the playing group, he's the main man. and as a supporter when that main man speaks to his fans like he's trying to sell them a used car. seriously mate, we're not idiots, we're not children and we're not stupid. be accountable to yourself.

Surely there's a performance clause in his contract. If you are going to give a rookie coach with no runs on the board a contract extension you would but in a performance review clause, surely. Please tell me we would have done this, or was it the reason Arocca was so upset? Did the Euge know all along Brad would be shit and no one listened???

Arocca's falling out was in reference to the Chief McDonald.

The coach won't be going anywhere, I think that's the logical decision here and one Brayshaw and co would no doubt conclude as well.

But given the guy is a relatively junior coach still, it's also logical that he needs some quality heads helping him.

It's the boards responsibility to recognise these issues and take action to get him the help he needs.

If that means tapping a couple blokes on the shoulder, then that is what they will have to do.

Anything else and they are selling themselves and the club and it's supporters short.
