playing Hanson loose across half back is a win on so many levels, pity it just took so long to make the play.

It took Scott two years to work this out while a lot on here have been screaming for this move. The problem with Scott is that he tries something to an inch of its life and doesn't change it until compelled to. Until he changes this mantra he will continue to coach us to yoyo performances.

Really stupid bump.

We win one game against an average team, and then all of a sudden those with prior concerns (which still exist) are proved wrong. Please.

Right, those same problems eg Shinboner Spirit still exist. Why aren't we beating that drum anymore?

By the way, a reactionary bump like this one is no more stupid than any of the reactionary threads on this board after a loss.

Well, I don't bump those either after a loss so I agree with you.

Have no idea what the Shinboner Spirit angle comes from though.

I'll be bumping the relevant thread shortly.

Bump by all means. I didn't start that thread and still think it's a shame we have been playing with such vigor.

One win doesn't change that so do whatever you want.

Shame about vigour? That isn't what you meant is it? Anyway, it's been bumped.

I know it doesn't. It's a point I've already made several times this season.

Yep, typo there on my behalf.......needed a "n't" o_O

But if that's the case then, why make a big deal of it and relate to me? Makes no sense.

While i have always been a Hansen as a back man, but the above is just wrong because:

1. Tarrant, Drew, Hansen worked fantastically last year when we played the best footy we have played for years
2. Black was not yet ready to come into the team and replace Lachie in that structure
3. Lachie's intent at the start of the year was poor
4. We had one thing not working at the start of this year, and that was our player's mental ability when challenged

The real yoyos are the supporters who forget past performances and think that sacking the coach is the answer as soon as we have a poor patch.

It is funny, because during our poor patch people calling for Scott's head were talking about how Hardwick has taken the tigers past us, yet go on the tiges board and the equivalent supporters are saying Hardwick cant coach, has no plan B and is too slow to react.

Obviously his best coaching performance to date, I won't take anything away from him, the Hansen move (although a long time coming) was excellent, as was his slingshot set up, which allows a great number of players around the ball.

For me the biggest difference was made at the selection table, having players like greenwood and Hine in the squad rather then outside runners like LA and Wright really makes a world of difference.

Hardwick is also a very average coach, and Richmond are completely overated, their top 10 are great but after that they really are pathetic.

He still has a fair bit to do to win me over to believe he is the man that will take us to a flag but yesterday showed he is willing to think outside the box, which was what we thought he couldn't do.

Exactly.

One win against an under performing Richmond and the suck up do gooders who see no wrong in life other than the valid criticism of others jump out of the Woodwork bumping threads and proclaiming I told so. :stern look

Precisely.

"Suck up do gooders" indeed, no wonder we can't see any other coaches with Scott in the box on game day with these clowns going to work down below.

Yeah, but at least the do gooders only do a bump or two to make the point that things are not as bad as the hysterical hard assess who dont accept medocrity point out over and over and over and over at every opportunity.

"Scott just smirked in a press conference!! Disgrace! Sack coach now!!"

C'mon. One win against a side that currently sits in the 8 but haven't been regular finalists over the last 20 years and some of "your lot" feel compelled to make a point which quite frankly is cringe worthy.

Under Scott we have finished 9th, 9th, 8th and currently sit 10th. By all means continue to be easily pleased as our club drowns in the sea of mediocrity occasionally bobbing up and occasionally being submerged. But after 4 years I consider it valid to start asking questions of where we are at under Scotts and why in the hell did Brayshaws feel compelled to sign Scotts till 2016? How some think that the concerns voiced about our football club have changed after one game is simply idiotic. :stern look

The thread isn't entitled "some concerns". It says "Bye Bye Brad". And "your lot" are always up and about during the down times, repeating the same shit over and over and acting disgusted and outraged at every selection decision or comment in a press conference.

9th, 9th, 8th is actually pretty good considering the list overhaul undertaken. Scott didn't do a Ross Lyon and walk in to a ready made finals list, he has turned it over and got games into young guys. Most others do not dream of 8th/9th finishes during that kind of rebuild.

And even if the above is just accepting mediocrity, have a think about this. We are a cumulative 10 points away from being in the top 4 despite having the hardest draw in the league. Say what you want about points are all that matter, that is 4, in the moment player decisions away from Scott having us in the top 4 in his fourth year.

That is Grima not falling in Bartel's back, Goldy clearing a down the line kick over the line, Hansen standing in front of Nic Nat and Atley not going up in the contest with Petrenko.

That is it, and we would be top four and have beaten both premiership favourites.

So based on four bad decisions by 4 different players, you think we should be considering getting rid of the coach?

Geez, selective reply ^^ maybe. Potatoes have a new name being Zebrah (sic)

How about Gold Coast? Thommo got lost and it cost us?
Magpies had half a team? Did Grima fall over and cost us?
WCE, had them on toast? Was Hansen at the Casino and cost us?

Etc etc.

Just a dumb post. We are on the ladder where we deserve to be, no excuses. It is up to the players to get the job done (in the hope Scott is awake finally) and a big and awesome win over Tigers is the first step. The next is against the Lions.

Until we play finals and beat some decent teams all the chest pumping is embarrassing.

Mate, you keep saying every post is dumb, but i can't see a dumber poster than your good self.

We played terribly against GC and Freo and got well beaten by Sydney. The rest we were right there to take it and the four above we lost by less than 4 points we would have won if not for the player decisions i highlighted.

We would still have the same things to work on if we got over the line, but we would be top 4 and the sack scott hysteria would not exist. The extreme view either way is wrong, but we have done more right than wrong this year despite what the ladder says.

Saintly isn't a dumb poster but he dislikes Brad Scott (irrationally) and regularly dismisses Robbie Tarrant. That's his right of course, but I don't think he realises just how long it takes to build a premiership list.

what selective memory: last year Hanson played forward with Tarrant and Petrie and we went okay. The year before Hanson was out of form, injured and took a while to get going in any position. As for his loyalty to players, good on him. What do you want: people in and out of the team for a bad performance, lost confidence and young players not ready to go to come in instead? He plays the strongest team we have each week, and sometimes some of them have a bad game.

1422 vs 1210

People have called for a more defensive side there it is.

7 times to this point last year we had conceded 100 points or more. This season just 4 times.

Statistics show that in 97% of games the team that reaches 100 points first will win. Twice this year we have bucked that stat and lost from that point. Its not the normal way of things and points to a lack of maturity (both coaching and playing) to not win from those positions.

There is improvement those that can't see it choose not to.

I relish the rest of the season, I think that we are primed to give things a real shake.

LOL.

As I said by all means continue to be easily pleased by our last 4 years of mediocrity under Scotts. :stern look

Also mate we were 14 points away to possibly being a "Top 4 Side". I'm not sure if 4 draws would have us in the "Top 4" at the minute. :stern look
