Can we just this once bye bye the whole playing group? Just fire sale the complete lot of them, Essendon top up player style pick ups playing for their footballing life the whole list and then add talent around it. See what happens?

I think it’s the coach not the playing list

I’ve found him completely uninspiring his entire tenure. Don’t know what he’s like behind closed doors but from the (extremely) limited look in the club gives us he just doesn’t seem particularly hard anymore, and god knows the group isn’t hard (correlation or causation?).

That said, I don’t know that yet another coach is the answer.

TBQH, Shaw was a 1/2 year wonder who lost his marbles and Noble was a never was who had zero nous

Clarkson has shown his system is ineffectual and easily countered. It’s over a decade since his three peat, and results after that weren’t anything to write home about.

Now in his fourth year with us, it’s painfully obvious it’s time to move on.

He’s unequivocally cooked beyond all belief.

Well while I'm in the camp of, not just the coaches fault. It is rather concerning that he puts up Konstanty as an example of required effort to succeed.

Since when has effort trumped class or ability to play any sport at elite levels.

Answer for those playing at home - farkings never!

While I will never be told of discontent in the ranks, I'd be a bit miffed if someone uses The Kont as an example for anything else than delisting.

So yeah cooker-clarko needs a reality check, not sure we have anyone to do that.

I bet you a dollar I surprise you. In fact, when we have blokes, higher paid and far more credentialled than JK flouncing about for entire careers, I'd even suggest it won't be too long. Or even right now. We, that is the Royal we, you, me and each and every one of us, want the players to work harder, with greater effort - the "required effort to succeed" as you say, well the failings of the mens team is not the sole responsibility of a bloke in what is really only his 2nd year of AFL senior football. He gets picked because other blokes don't try.

I think we’re at a stage where a prospective young coach would look at our list and no longer think “potential career killer” if they came to coach North.

Clarkson can’t seem to coach anymore and he certainly ain’t no master tactician. But the very least I can credit him with has been the ability to retain talent. Based mostly on the reputation he built a decade ago, but all good.. They’ve stuck around all the same.

The timing would be right for an ambitious young coach to look at this list, know it’s underachieving and have the fire in the belly to get more out of this club.

It’s what literally happened at Hawthorn with Mitchell. Look at them now. Ain’t hard to recognise the problem. It’s time.

It's pretty simple, mate. Konstanty never stops chasing when the ball's in his area.

The number of other players we have currently who do that: none.

The players we have who might do that down the track: Dovaston and Banch. Trembath at a stretch. Showed defensive aptitude in those three games. X tries his guts out but is hampered by the fact he moves like an oil tanker.

Konstanty is absurdly lacking in skill with the ball but he has a spot until someone displaces him. Your mate Zurhaar could've been one of the best two way forwards in the game, going by some of his performances as a 21 year old. But sometime around covid he gave up the idea and is now a large part of the reason why Konstanty is a mainstay

Yes BOABBanch, the VFL squad during warm up look a yard quicker across the park.

He’ll be here for at least 26 and probably half of 27.

I don’t think he’s moving us out of where we are and we’re not going to pay him out an extraordinary amount of money.

I expect a decent coaching clean out next year.

The worst period in our history is yet to close.
