I think I'm right in saying that the Bullants play Casey Scorpians (and Brendan Fevola) on 27th August which is the weekend we have the bye (Round 23).

It looks like Kreuz is struggling for touch after missing the first half of the season.

Would you put him back into the Ants for a week during the Bye to hopefully get some easy touches.

In private , I'd even take it as step further and get him to play basically as a loose man across half back and centre and instruct our guys to feed him the ball and get his confidence up.

Is one week enough ? The next week would be VFL finals ??

Ideally we would have rested him against the Hawks, given him the Saints game and have been well rested for finals.

Injuries to our rucks haven't been kind, I get a feeling Kreuze is tired moreso than out of touch.

Is too easily out-bodied as a key forward. Runs under the ball, and is very poor at bracing himself for body-on-body situations. He tries to run and leap at the footy... great if you've got a yard on your opponent, but not if there's someone up your klacker. League defenders are very proficient at putting their opponents off balance, and Kruezer plays into their hands. If he plays on a Gibson, he'd be murdered.

I'd run him on-ball for a while and tell him to hunt the footy. Unsure of a suitable matchup for him at Hawthorn though...

Alright, remember people - he's super human at times but it is only his 8th or so match back from a year off from a knee injury.

His form last year prior to injury was only average, he needs more game time so yep needs to play in twos.

Mcevoy has gone past him at this stage, which is a shock.

He's definitely got a lot to learn about being a key-forward, granted that he's only been playing that role more frequently the past few weeks. I'm not holding my breath for him to become a Franklin or Riewoldt but he needs to be better with his body work and positioning. The way he moves sometimes, he looks like someone who's not quite comfortable with how big he is.

Didnt train when we had our light session over in perth, might need a rest more than match fitness.

That may be true, but it is to a great extent irrelevant. Kreuzer played mainly as a ruckman before he was injured last year, and didn't spend as much time up forward. I think patience is required. The more time he gets in the forward 50, the better he will be. It's honestly why Ablett is a better goalkicker than Juddy - Ablett spent the better part of his early years up forward while Judd was playing midfield so much earlier.

If we give him the time, he will improve. Everybody at the club admires Kreuzer's attitude towards his footy - he has very high expectations and I am more than confident he will grow and develop into a fantastic forward/ruckman.

give him a break guys - it takes longer for KPP to come good - plus he is coming off a serious injury - all we have to do is keep giving him game time and he will do the rest.

He will be a star - give him 50 more games and he will be elite.

End of story

Nope. Needs a break physically and the week off will be fantastic for him in the lead-up to finals.

The kid will be an absolute star but the fact is that he's coming back from a knee reconstruction. Wasn't going to be anywhere near his best upon returning to the senior team.

He'll be fine. A full preseason will see him ready and raring to go for season 2012 but for now he stays in the side because of what he could offer if it clicks.

he didnt do any running drills in Perth, he did some short kicking and handballing drills before heading back into the stands, got mobbed by the autograph hunters and then disappeared.

Maybe. We need to make sure he gets some more finals experience though. I expect he will play all our remaining games but have the bye off like the rest of the team.
