look guys, i dont mean to be knockin the kid but how many chances must tenace need to show he can actually cut it at senior level at the moment?. ive watched most games this year, even vfl and he hasnt really blown a team apart. i just think byrnes has been great this year and does add abit of spark when needed.
what i dont get is why he starts on the bench, and tenace on the wing?

what are your thoughts?

Dont forget Tenace is still only in his second year. Most young players dont come good until there third year. If he isnt performing next year questions can be asked. I think he only 19.

A mate of mine played juniors or under 18's with him and said he was a gun or had pace to burn, always been big wraps on him but i think thompson has handled him pretty well to date, remember reading that Tenace had alot of self doubt and wasn't sure if he was up to it but thompson has told the kid he has got the ability and hasn't pressured him to much.
I believe we will see a very fine player in the coming years and i wouldn't be to critical just yet, as said 3rd and 4th years is when u see these kids develop and i am sure he will live up to his potential, they don't call him the turbo for nothing

Tenace kicks too much on his left

He's as dual-sided as they come, the difference is minimal.

It's more his decision-making that affects the subsequent execution.

Give them both time im sure in a year or two it will be like asking Kelly or Bartel?

Dunno, hes has good technique on his left but hes more accurate on his right. Its good for when he needs to use it but he should opt more for his right when he has the chance.

yeh i kno what yous are saying. but i mean this year, at this current time byrnes is in better form. i feel as in thompson is playing tenace becoz he can see him being a 'future star' but its just not happening at the moment.
he may well be a very good player in the long run but i just dont know what else byrnes has to do to get more game time.

I think the way they have been playing Byrnes has been great - he is like a mini Ricci - comes on and gives us a bit of spark. He is in pretty good form atm.

Tenace is still young and will come good.

Totally agree, next year will be a crunch year for him, i reckon he can make it, just needs to live in the gym over summer has all teh other attributes, good skills, pace just needs some size which will give him more confidence.

Hard to make comparisons between the two at such an early stage in their development, but ATM I would say Byrnes adds alot more to the team.

I just get so frustrated seeing Tenace get the ball and not running then turning it over by hand. Obviously it is all about confidence and the future will tell us how good of a player both of these guys will be for GFC.

I would say that Tenace needs to trim down a touch - not as blisteringly quick as before, possibly too heavy. Andrew Bews mentioned this on K-Rock, and he would have some idea as last year's runner.

Can't agree more.
Tenace's size almost doubled in the pre-season, I thought "great, now he has the body as well" but it looks like he doesn't know how to handle his new body shape.
I think this pre season should involve minimal weights work for Kane, and just get his skills right.

I'm still confident Tenace will be a quality player in the future for us. He was labelled as having blistering pace and good skills on both sides when we recruited him. We've seen glimpses of that, but as with all young players when they step up to this level, it takes time for them to adjust to the physical pressure on the ball carrier. I don't think Kane has made this adjustment yet, but when he does he will be great value.

I know they are all diferent players, shapes and sizes but do u think there is room in our team for Tenace, Brynes AND Mackie? What happens when Wojja comes back?? There isnt enough room for all our small forards: Ablett, Chappers, Mackie and SJ either... anyway

Tenace will come good, as people have said he is only very young. I dont think you can really judge a player who has played less than 30 games can you??

I love seeing Turbo burn opposition players along a wing and im sure i will be for years to come!! I just hope hamstring troubles dont get to him like many fast players.
