Rance’s form in recent years has been as good as anyone ever. Therefore, the only thing holding him back is whether he plays another 4 years or retires early.
Nonsense. Not as good as Scarlett's peak imo.

Then you go back in time and consider someone like David Dench who completely redefined the position. And that's before mentioning Silvagni either.

As I said, he's excellent. But he's got a long way to go and improvement needed if he's in the GOAT fullbacks discussion.

No midfielder for Wedt Coast. Would be very suprised if that happens
Westcoast have come out and said we need midfielders so Twomey chooses a HF, HB and a ruck with our picks.
Callum Coleman-Jones? What's that about?

I can live with Allen at 13 if he's the best player available. But surely if they pick a tall first up, they go bang bang bang and load up on mids after that. Surely.

I don't reckon we get Allen anyway

rance is a great player, but rioli has been a star in 4 premierships. It's not the most outrageous thing to think.

Thats the whole point of my post. Everyone has a different opinion, just like ranking a draft and different players

Eg do you want an top line finisher icing on the cake type player or you want a dependable full back. Your opinion will change depending on the needs of your team so there is no right or wrong answer.

Stole this from another thread.

"Naish’s junior career failed Champion Data’s “Magic Number” rule. That states that draft prospects who win less than 30 per cent of their possessions contested usually struggle in the AFL.

Naish recorded a contested possession rate of 27 per cent from 32 matches. He averaged 22 possessions for Vic Metro this year, but only 4.5 contested

Probably explained why Naish may not go so high. Previously drafted players with low contested rates - Cale Morton Toumpas Hatung Aish and Kane Lucas.

Do you think someone else will get him first ? Or do you think (as I do ) that we have more important positions to fill than tall forward ?

Think we go mid first

Happy enough with Higgins - Toby Greene crossed with Devon Smith
Love the Harrison Petty pick
I'd go a Noah Balta, Jordan Butts or make a cheeky bid on Mummy's boy Crossling

Interesting

remember when all the WC fans were teasing Cal for not selecting mids for WC?

Brander, Allen and Ryan after the "focussing on midfielders"
Well we needed a small forward, but i'm not so happy about taking two tall forwards with our first two picks. Maybe they think that they can turn one of them (or one of the ones we already have) into a midfielder. Good luck with that.
