Yeah, well I'd be absolutely stoked with those lads and the only bid I'd take over any of those picks would be Nick Blakey hoping Caldwell was still there at our next pick. Probably slightly prefer Xavier O'Halloran over McHenry but not by much.

The complete lack of SA players was what struck me.

I have no idea whether these players are any good or not (happy to plead ignorance). I'm certainly not criticising that side of his phantom. If Bicks says he's happy with the result, then I'm certainly not going to argue - Bicks watches a LOT more U18 football than I do (given that I don't watch any at all).

What South Australians would we bid on early? I'd hope for at least one, but I'm really only interested in the big 4. Apart from that I think we would only take 1 of Butters and McHenry.

There's unfortunately nothing we can do when it comes to other teams picking SA talent ahead of us. Rankine, Lukosuis and Rozee look out of reach, then GWS take Rankine right after our first pick. If that's the case we obviously ranked Caldwell well above Hately going by what Hamish has said previously. Then obviously you're not going to reach massively for Valente at your next pick at 13 just to get an SAer.

I can see us bidding on Thomas and Quaynor because I know we rate them really highly. I can see us bidding on Briggs because we need a ruckman. I can see us bidding on Kelly because of the Jake link, and especially if we pick 3 running types.

I can’t see us bidding on Blakey because we traded in pick 13 from Sydney and we will do them a solid there. I think Blakey will be off the board anyway by the time our pick comes around.

I assume that he does it to make them spend their picks. So they pay full tote and are out of later picks.
