Congratulations to Cameron 'Paddle Pop Lion' Ling for his upcoming milestone match against the Bulldogs this Friday night.

According to team-mate James Kelly:
He's one of the most respected players in the group at Geelong and I know that if we had every player playing with the conviction and team-orientation that he does, we would never lose. Ever.

It's pretty hard to argue with that. Hope the Cats get over the line for him. :thumbsu:

Congratulations Pink Pig - love you mate, be sure to remind Adam Cooney on the weekend that he is the worst Bronwlow winner since Shane Woewodin

Congrats Paddle Pop!

A wonderful achievement from 'The Mayor'.

Cameron's transformation from overweight, ungainly junior full-forward to All-Australian, B&F winning, premiership playing club champion midfielder is well documented, but it's worth revisiting just to see how far he's come and how hard he's worked to achieve all he has in the hoops.

He's been the true heart and soul of our playing group for decade, a leader from day one, a role model for our young footballers and a perfect example of how far hard work, dedication and desire can take you.

His quality as a person is often overlooked by those outside the club but one only needs to speak to anyone at the GFC to understand just how much of an impact Cameron has had on the development of our young players, both as footballers and as people.

We couldn't ask for a better ambassador for our great club.

Well done Cameron :)

I thought I'd leave you with five things you didn't know about Cameron Ling:1. He is afraid of heights;2. He puts blond tips in his hair;3. He once had a parma, pizza, steak sandwich and mixed grill for lunch;4. He almost stood up on his surf board once;5. He was approached by Redheads matches for a sponsorship.
I loled.

I think it's also necessary to return to what was, IMO, the other great tradition of this board in 07 (alongside 'the game we usually lose...'):

Just as much as the success, Ling is one of the main reasons I'm proud to be a Geelong supporter through this era.

He's a great honest player, he's smart, articulate, considerate & has a great sense of humour.

It would be a tragedy if his CV doesn't eventually have 'captain' written on it.

Love your work Lingy!!:thumbsu:

He was the biggest eater at the club apparently - however I wonder if Mummy has taken that mantle now?

Great guy, fantastic team player and Geelong is a better team thanks to Lingy. I'm sure the boys will get up to make sure this milestone is a win to remember on Friday night. :)

(Does he really puts blonde tips in his hair?)

Wow... What can you say about Ling. He was voted sexiest Afl player alive for a reason :P Without a doubt he would be 1 of the top 3 respected at the club and led the Cats well several times this year when Harley was injured. He is an icon that is for sure.

Congratulations to Cameron Ling who will play his 200th game this weekend against the Dogs and will also Captain the side in the absence of Tom Harley.

Good luck Ginger!
