Opinion Cameron Ling as a media pro.

Ling was good tonight seemed relaxed and comfortable with the role didn't have to manufacture excitement over the game. The Friday night commentators were awful so over the top and so many cliches.I'd like to hear Ling doing special comments instead of on the boundary

when I first saw him I groaned and thought another bias caller. He was really balanced though and his interviews were very impressive. Jakovich and McGuire could learn a thing or two.

Lingy's an absolute champ :thumbsu:
most opposition players like him as he's always been a top bloke and I bet he often shouts players free grog whenever they head into one of his pubs in Geelong.

He'll always be very approachable by all teams so it will allow viewers a little more insight than the usual snobs like David King, Jakovich etc.
Colbert seems to be a laid back type of character as well.

Ling after chatting to someone for 1 minute.

"Thanks so much for talking to me, it is so appreciated, I owe you one and I am just so indebted for the opportunity, have a good night and I can't wait for the next time fate has us crossing paths".

*Shakes hand vigorously*

Made us laugh every time. Onya Lingy.

Rofl, brilliant!

Hes doing very well. I hope he and joke-avich ride the boundary together one day, just to see the contrasting styles.

I thought he interviewed Pav well after the game, considering I was curled up in the corner mumbling "no, no, no". Wish he would look at the camera at least once when he asked a question or received an answer.

I've always liked Lingy. In fact, if I have manlove for anyone other than Mzungu, it's Lingy. And not just because I feel sorry for him being a bloodnut.

So soon out of the game, and you see "experts" like Paul Roos and Luke Darcy make d!ckheads of themselves. Not Cameron Ling. It would've been pretty damned awful watching that game, especially in light of some of the niggle going on. But he was a true professional; balanced, reasoned, able to acknowledge his own views and perspectives and contribute personal observations while still maintaining a balanced professional demeanour.

Hope to see more of him, I thought he did bloody well.
