The incident looked quite nasty on the replay and we all know his history with Lloyd, its going to be interesting what the match review pull out of the hat this week
Fingers crossed he gets off, he's a player we cannot afford to lose.

Re: Campbell Brown - Will he get cited for tripping

I was wondering that! Its a nervous wait definatly. It seems like you can get off if you claim it was a reactive thing but seeing Brown was falling to the opposite side you cant really say he was stepping across to the tackle.

Re: Campbell Brown - Will he get cited for tripping

I thought it was more a collision of knees/legs when going for the football than a deliberate/intentional trip. Even if browny gets 10 weeks it was worth it to see llyod go down like a sack of spuds.

I don't think it will be!

what about jordan lewis for attempting to strike he let a nice right hook go !!

Re: Campbell Brown - Will he get cited for tripping

I don't think he will.

I remember this year Hawks v Collingwood, a Collingwood player blatantly tripped a hawks player and all it resulted in was a free.

I'm not sure. Is tripping by hand considered to be different than tripping by foot ?

There was not much in it anyways, nothing to worry about. But with the MRP, I suppose anything could happen.

Re: Campbell Brown - Will he get cited for tripping

It'll be a repeat of the Swell Thomas trip and go something like this:

Contact between C Brown and M Lloyd from Sunday's match. It was the deemed that C Brown dived at Lloyd in an attempt to tackle him. Although the action resulted in Lloyd going to ground, it was deemed a legitimate attempt to tackle, rather than a trip. No further action required.

Nothing to worry about imho.

I am not so confident with either of these incidents. Lewis was lucky not be cited a few weeks ago, and Brown definitely tripped Lloyd up. Is not worth him being penalised just to see Lloyd go down. We need ALL our players on the ground for the rest of the year, not sitting in the grandstand! Am very concerned about these two incidents...

Lewis swung and missed or hit the other guys shoulder. Nothing in it.
Brown's trip could be deemed reckless. We should know soon.

Contact between Hawthorn's Campbell Brown and Essendon's Matthew Lloyd. Lloyd wrong-foots Brown in an attempt to run past him and Brown throws his arm and leg out as a reflex action. Brown's foot makes contact, resulting in Lloyd going to ground. The foot contact was deemed accidental.

From the AFL website.
