The team that uses the ball better kicking into forward 50 will definitely win the match, and lately we have used the ball pretty well. The small forwards (Didak & Caracella) all have to play blinders, because the tall forwards wouldn't have as much of an impact if it is going to rain.

Trust me on this.. Our back line > Melbourne's forward line.

If melbourne have the best forward line in the comp atm howd the ******** did u lose to freo by 100+ points. Cos u have the best defence and all.
Yze is the dangerous one this week, robbo will get the better defender this week. so that will keep robbo quiet.

The Pies are without a doubt a definite chance to win this one. With the likes of presti, johnson, jimmy, wakes and maxwell in defence their forward line is as good as negated. if rhyce, licca and burns play a mongrel game and keep it at ground level it will stop the great run that melbourne can get through the centre. and lets not forget brodie whos played a couple of blinders and not to mention swanny.

should be a good one but I reckon if the pies keep up the form of the last couple of weeks were going to be unstoppable. Pies by 3 goals.

Umm..I dont think Miller would mind any of that hard stuff. Either would Mclean or Sylvia or half of our side. Do you read the newspaper..we are deemed by many as the new bad boys of the competition. Every week there are narrow-minded supporters like the kangaroos, or richmond who hit form and then think that they are a really good side until we beat them.
I dont care if the pies get priorities this year because they need them. Desperately due to their severe lack of talent.

You never have and never will stop the great man, Garry Lyon couldnt even stop him this year, and if you cant beat Taz, you wont beat Rusling, then there is the issue of Dids and Caracella, lets not forget Burnsy drifting forward, Cam Cloke drifting forward from the Ruck, Fraser floating across hald forward, and big Trav at CHF. Brodie is always good for a goal or 2 as is Tarks and Jimmy Clement, Rhyce Shaw, all kicked goals in recent wins

-Didak and Caracella aren't concerned with how hard they are so much as they are with how many goals they're going to kick against your overrated backline.

-Tarkyn Lockyer just soundly beat Gary Ablett Jr one on one and picked up 30 possessions en route to doing so.

I think you will find that our backline is not over-rated at all. To say so shows your ignorance. It is a well-known fact that we have one of the best forward lines in the competition. White is much bigger and stronger than mr.stick figure josh fraser.

If the pies got to pick another player with their high draft pick I have no doubt that they would choose someone else. This is shown by the Pies willingness to shaft him for a 24 year old midfielder in Stevens. And even Port Adelaide knew that Didak was not half the player.

Are you ridiculous enough to sugest that Nathan Buckley is an outside player....your ignorance disappoints me...regularly gone head to head with some of the toughest onballers and dealt with taggers with aplomb not just for one season but for about 8 in succesion.

Melbourne are a very clean & skilled side, but, are very suspect to physical aggression (Rd 4 Vs St Kilda 2005 and 01,02,03 vs Pies) have no one that intimidates...Neitz gives barely given a whimper vs Collingwood. They are pretty ******** stats for a pick 3. Mclean averages 17 possies a game in his second season and he kicks a few goals too.

McLean is better than Alan Didak in the consistency.

But Alan Didak is much better when he is hot, than Aaron Davey, Colin Sylvia or Brock McLean are. Didak can turn matches on and off. And the last two weeks he has done that.

Anyway, Didak is no no.3 draft pick. Needs the extra consistency. Davey has had a poor season, lets hope he doesnt turn it on.

I think you will find that our backline is not over-rated at all. To say so shows your ignorance. It is a well-known fact that we have one of the best forward lines in the competition. White is much bigger and stronger than mr.stick figure josh fraser.

Just to say that the backline is overrated isn't to say it's no good. Just not as good as many people rate it.

Ferguson is a stick figure, and probably too weak to play on Tarrant or Cloke, while Rusling, Didak and Caracella would be too slippery for him. I can't see him having a strong matchup on anyone.

Nicholson is quite simply too immobile to play on any of our forwards. Travis Cloke would be the least mobile, and he simply ran away from Tom Harley and Cameron Mooney, who I think most would agree are at least AS mobile as Nicholson, probably more so. From there, it only get's harder, with Tarrant, Rusling and so on becoming even more difficult for him to match up with. However, considering that Tarrant is probably going to beat anyone on the lead, you might try him on Tarrant for the overhead contests, which Nicholson would indeed best Tarrant in. The danger will be that any of our forwards are perfectly capable of losing him on long leads to the wing, which in turn opens up space for the other quick forwards to lead into.

Rivers could be a good matchup for a few of our forwards, but the mail is that he could be used on Travis Cloke? That wouldn't be a great idea, as Cloke is significantly bigger than Rivers, and it's not like just applying pressure will get him to drop marks. To stop Travis Cloke, you have to get a fist on the ball, because otherwise he'll take anything that comes near him.Given that, losing that much size to a guy isn't a great idea.

This is how you should probably match up on our forward line:

Tarrant: Nicholson
Cloke: Ferguson
Rusling: Bizzell
Caracella: Rivers
Didak: Whelan

The key to your defense is going to be getting guys back into the leading space though, which is going to rely on heavy rotation, and with a forward line that's as quick as Collingwood's, that could be costly.

Nicholson doesnt have a matchup. He's only useful in the last line of defence against a tall strong marking oppponent. The only matchup for him is T Cloke, and T Cloke will play too far from goals for Nicholson's liking.

We reckon we're in with a shot though. So do you by recognising it as a "danger game". Are you calling yourself "misguided"??

BTW, Clemo isn't our only defender. He's our best one, but even then not by a whole lot!

1. I have TWO eyes and acknowledge that Collingwood have been playing well.

2. I have TWO eyes and acknowledge that Melbourne could play crap, despite their recent form. Our focus may be on playing W.C. the following week.

The point of my post was to point out to many Collingwood supporters that maybe Collingwood doesn't have the best backline and forwardline in the league and that maybe Didak isn't the best small forward in the league.
