Can u cook?

i was having a discussion with a friend the other day about whether she can cook or not. And after helping Bomber Boy cook a roast while in chat the other night, i was wondering..


Who here knows how to cook? and can actually cook a decent meal...not just 2 minute noodles?


i am a more than capable cook, as my mother is a maestro and taught me from a young age......but i have a lot of friends who cant cook the simplest little things. (one of my friends cooked 2 min noodles in the kettle cos they had to be cooked in boiling water LOL )

I can cook enough to get by, but if I need to cook anything more elaborate than a roast, I need a recipe until I've cooked it enough to remember.

I can cook very well, when i want to that is.
I go through stages where im really inventive and i wanna cook, and other stages where i just can't be bothered and eat whatever mum cooks.
I had to learn to cook when i became a vego, otherwise i would have starved coz my mum is not nice enough to make me my own special food!

Ditto. Fair enough I'd reckon, but in year 12 I ended up with screwed iron levels because I couldn't be bothered cooking for myself, and ended up just eating the few dried up vegies my mother cooked to go with their meat.

I've been suffering from Animmia (basicaly low iron levels) since i was 4, and been in and out of hospital for about a year coz i kept collapsing. Still i insisted on not eating any meat and so mum started cooking for me (i was only 7 at the time and couldn't cook for myself) but it didn't help so the doctor ordered me to eat chicken at least and so i started eating it and in the process i also learned to cook vego stuff... the best thing is no one in my house likes what i eat so i get it all for myself!
