Do we really need to be asking all these "can we beat team X this year" questions? The real battle isn't against any other team at all. It's within us. The real question we should be asking is, can we beat ourselves this year? Can we beat the the mental scars embedded on the collective conscious of the playing group accumulated from years failure? Until we do we'll continue to see some shithouse performances in big games, (i.e our Elimination final no-show against Port). It's take 534 now... we all know how our seasons most likely going to go if we approach 2015 with the same damn mental weakness we've shown in previous years.

We'll pump Hawthorn and Sydney but lose to Melbourne. Get done by 10 goals to Essendon first game we play em then smash them by 10 in our second meeting. Pound the Weagels in the west, but lose by a point on the siren at Etihad to a Giansiracusa (sub) snap from the boundary. Have a thrilling 1 goal loss to Carlton after being up by 83 points at half time. Finish the season 7th on % and get smashed again in an interstate Elimination final. Talk up all the positives we can find in pre-season 2016, rinse and repeat. Lock it in if we don't go about changing some of what's between the ears.

Things have consistently changed for the better since Dimma started. Ignoring the first 13 games and the final, last years biggest lesson was winning a lot of close ones and coming from behind to do it on some occasions. I reckon we've really matured and will show other great signs next year. Not ready yet IMO

On this board we do nothing but beat ourselves.

Brings back memories of Dave allen (Irish comedian). Dressed as a Bishop or similar as he walked through a Microphone exclaiming "If you don't stop you will go blind".....Very funny man...

1,000% agree with this ... Richmond's biggest enemy is themselves.
In the last 4 years, Hawthorn has rarely been toweled .. the TIGES are the ONLY club to have done it ... TWICE!

For mine, it all comes down to two things
A. BELIEF - they have proven they can play .... FFS!!! .. Stop kicking sideways!!!!
When you make the turnover, RUN and make space for each other ... Much more dangerous team when they play like this, they move the ball as fast as any team.
B. HARDNESS - See Richmond 70's team for more info.
The West Coast & Sydney games proved they could match it physically with any team, start delivering this every week.

If the TIGES bring it in 2015 & have minimal injuries ... Top 4 is very achievable.

The comp is far more interesting when Richmond are competitive .. ;)

We have to remember all clubs bring out the full kitchen sink and accessories to our matches so we have to go that extra ten percent to win over what we think we may need.
