How hard is the west coast game really?
Rd 1 lost the dogs(9th)
Rd 2 beat carlton (18th)
Rd 3 lost to freo (1st)
Rd 4 beat Bris (16th)
Rd 5 beat Gws (7th) however in what there 3rd year?
Rd 6 beat port(11th)
Rd 7 beat GC (17th)
Rd 8 beat Stk (14th)
Rd 9 beat Geel (12th)
I think the odds of a flag are extremely extremely low.
We'd need to play precise, agressive football with accurate kicking- which we actually did last night and have played to a very good standard the past month.
If we can find a way to play that way the rest of the season, we're a chance. I just dont think we can

Until last night the minimum was to make the 8 and win a final. The last 4 weeks have shown we can make the 8 and win a final. The next 4 weeks will probably show whether Richmond is capable of better than that.
PS After last night I think I'd rather play West Coast in Perth!

This is the third year in a row the Tiges have knocked off the top team on the ladder.
Looking at the Tiges last 20 games, 15 wins, 5 losses.
Amongst the wins were-
Port twice (once in Adelaide)
Bombers twice,
Eagles in Perth,
Freo in Perth,
Swans in Sydney,
Crows in Adelaide,
Lions in Brisbaine (no biggie but we travel well)
Pies,
Blues in front of 85k even though they are shit.
losses,
Port in Adelaide, final... ouch.
Cats,
Roo's,
Dee's
Dogs.
We are in as good a form as any.

Haven't read all of the thread so excuse me if I am going over old ground. However I would suggest the side needs to win at least three finals before they win a flag.......

I will say it is possible given its a pretty weak year this year I think. Like when Adelaide won it in the nineties.
Not many teams are strong. Hawthorn will probably win it but I think they are getting weaker as are the Swans and possibly Freo. Freo were not playing there after burn last night but I think they will respect us more after that.
Dunno, if we can win but we are far from a very good team. We have plenty of weaknesses to fix and improve on so we are a work in progress.
We might fluke it I suppose but we are pretty far from the kind of performance we want to excel at I would think.
Friday night was okay as a stepping stone. But I like to think our future teams should be able to put in far better performances than that as our team develops and improves.
We are coming from a pretty low base so there is plenty of development and work left for us to do I think.

No we can't win the flag. Not enough depth.
We could sneak into the top 4 though. There's going to be one pretty ordinary side in the top 4 this year, after Syd, Haw, Freo there's a spot up for grabs and everybody else is pretty even.

We are on the right track , but as long as DH and the admin don't get ahead of themselves and start producing those tacky docos and sketches. Also providing they stick to correct player selection policies and gift certain below vfl players games
Also mt biggest concern is that our game plan is very predictable and come September some of the more seasoned and smarter coaches may have worked up a plan to dismantle us. DH and staff need to be on the ball to come up with another surprise tactic when required. The first quarter Friday night was perfect as SRL and men had their pants pulled down and pick pocketed in the one action. More unpredictability please DH and I say yes

99% before the freo game were saying that they will beat us? The thing is if we keep playing the way we have last 4 weeks anything is possible as i believe we will finish top 4. Apart from freo every other side looks beatable and now that we have shown we can beat them 2 why not dare to dream this could be our long waited year.
I have long believed that while we were 50-50 for top 8 we had little or no chance of top 4 and absolutely no flag chance.
Perhaps we can have a right good go at top 4. Perhaps we can slip into 4th and a QF.
I think a flag is probably beyond real expectations but I think a place in the Prelim finals is now a graspable target though as others have said stranger things have happened and let's hope.
