VB needs to be finding more of the ball himself to become a competent one, otherwise you're going to end up with the star opposition player getting thirty five touches to VBs 20 or less. So basically losing half a player.

Some people do rate Nathan Van Berlo more than others... Its not because he is from WA. I rate him for his consistency from 2009-2012. In his last 2 years before he was captain, He was a very good player and he was getting 20 disposals a game.


But if you crows fans want to get rid of him... Put him up for trade. If he is out of contract... then Both WA teams will take a look at him.

Anyway, I have posted here instead since I did get to have a chat with vB on Sunday afternoon
The Good
- Pierro Cabernet Merlot, Castle Rock Porongurup Riesling, Manjimup truffles
- Sloaney
- Brad Crouch (who was it that declared him "average" after 2 games with poor disposal skills
- The core of our next Premiership (hopefully) defensive unit, Talia, Henderson, Laird, Brown, Henderson (I'm still hoping they move Brodie into the midfield)
- The Education of Richard Douglas. He was on track to be the first dual B&F in AFL/VFL history to never to tagged. Didn't spit the dummy and was handy in the second half.

Lynchy, just think what he might be like if he had played an extra 15 games last year
- Kyle, promising start (but very early days)
- Bernie, it's games like Saturday's that frustrate me about some of his other efforts this year
- vB, lined up behind me on the flight home, asked if my mates and I had flown over for the match and then chatted about our wine adventure. Must be the nicest guy in the AFL (but I still want a Dangerfield/Sloane leadership next year

The Bad

Our gameplan this week. Last week we played a six man forwardline for most of the night and still generated run from Hendo. I know that Freo are always happy to play a 10 man defence but hearing Sando say before the match that we would play with a 5 man forwardline (did you hear that Carl) was painful. It's hard to judge our front 5 when they are outnumbered all night. Yes, JJ can't beat three defenders but even Wayne Carey struggled with a 3-on-one. (well rumour has it he excelled at threesomes but that is only rumour)
- Watching a half fit Thommo and then hearing everyone bag him.
- Playing Andy Otten out of form by switching him around in the last month. He was just starting to look confident so mwe moved him fprward for a couple of weeks
- Porps, is this as good as it gets? It was hard work for our front 5 but he seemed to fumble more than usual.
- Goalkicking
Ugly

Playing the game on Freo's terms.
- No Kerridge or Grigg
- JJ's ankle
- Falling ill on Friday night and subsequently watching the delayed telecast from a bed at the Sir Charles Gairdiner Hospital

Really Ugly

At least Crowleys opponents only gets 12 when he does. VB gets 12 his opponents get anywhere upwards of 25

Yeah I see your point there. I wouldn't of wanted Josh Carr as Freos captain considering he did more good than harm when he was with us from 2005-2008.

Yes I would. Crowley is the best tagger in the comp at the moment. VB is the worst.

Shaun McManus wasn't the greatest player at our Club but he was a Freo boy. He was co-captain with Adrian Fletcher in 2000 and 2001. Also McManus retired in his own terms in 2008.

Watson is a drug Cheat and he plays for essendon.

Jack Trengrove hasn't single handedly guided the demons in to many wins hasnt he? Van Berlo has captained the crows to more victories this season than Trengrove has done in 2 years.

Tom Scully has a dodgy knee and I personally would not Justify paying him 1 million a year for 6 years.

Scarily enough so far Van Berlo, Trengrove and Scully all have averaged 17 disposals a game.

Its a bit strange isn't it? You can deny Van berlo has had some good years at your club. He has done more good than Harm.

Still it would be like me saying the Freo fans should turn on Pavlich for having an injured season. I wont forget his 14 seasons of service before 2013.

VB never hit the heights of Pav - his best has been ok, maybe slightly above average.

He's been woeful this year - but the coaching panel need to accept some responsibility for that.

With Danger, Smith, Crouch, Douglas, Lyons, Grigg, Kerridge and a couple of others starting to look good, and with his continued indifferent form, he'll potentially be borderline 22 next year.

Hypothetically, what would you put his trade value at?
