With Carey coaching the forwards i'm hoping he'll instill some mongrel into our forward line. I know Taz has it in him and Pebbles too but we need to see some of that controlled aggression that Carey reeked of as a player. Surest way to stop flooding is to put your knees up and cannon into the player dropping back into the hole.If you make it clear that anyone who is stupid enough to drop back into your space is going to get crunched then they will think twice about doing it again and you only need to make 'em take their eyes off it long enough to take advantage. Players who had the mongrel in 'em and were superstars included the likes of: Carey,Lockett,Ablett..etc
Anybody else agree??

Yes I agree Collingwood need to add something to their foward line.

Totally agree, we need more structure and stability in our forward line, i dont believe Tarrant shouldnt be our FF. Not many people know, but Tarrant only started playing the forward line when he was picked up by the pies, his junior footy was played on the wings and in the middle.

Rusling: FF
Rocca: CHF
T.Cloke HFF
Didak left pocket
buckley right pocket.

I can’t stand Carey but if he helps our club then great. As for what he does do, I will be happy if he can convince Tarrant that unless he can kick straight he is an average performing footballer and Malthouse that Tarrant should play on a wing anyway – or at least be tried there. I hope he can teach Fraser to take a pack mark. I hope he can get hold of Travis Cloke early and teach him how to impose himself on a game and then back it up next week. I hope he can be of some use to Cameron Cloke as a CHF prospect. Unfortunately he can’t make anyone possess the raw ability he possessed. Any increased aggression he can draw from our list will be a plus though because Christ knows we need that.

Is "Mongrel" his pet name for it??

Hope he can get the whole team to lift.
About time we showed some stiff opposition.
We need to raise the bar.

At the western bulldogs game, i overheard a whole bunch of supportors complain about Carey and where saying that if Collingwood recurit him they would not re sign as members in 2006. I think this is just a discrase talking like that, one of the best players ever to play the game we should get all we can out of him. if the players dont respond, get him to put on the shorts!!!!! LOL

I'm pretty sure Tarrant was a forward all his junior career but we tried him in the midfield and wings for a wihle in the reserves.

I read an old interview with Tazza when we recruited him and he said he mainly played on the HF or HB lines.

Anyways, unfortunately I don't think mongrel can be taught. I think Carey will have some good ideas though.

You've got it all wrong, the forward line should line up as follows

Taz / TClo / Fraser
Rusling / Rocca / Buckley
