Hi there all Melb fans...

for those going to the game I suggest we bring candles, a nice beer/wine and share the laughter and the tears at what will be the strangest game in our two clubs histories.

We can hold hands and sing our club theme songs whilst the boys play on the ground... doubt there will be much cheering.

Good luck.... perhaps legitimately saying break a leg may be in order?

As a thanks to both clubs supporters for having to watch rubbish football this year they should put on free grog for all supporters!

Furthermore, so we don't have to watch the crap being displayed on the field they should have Kouta highlights on one big screen and Neitz highlights on the other.

Haha nice idea lads. It's like that episode on The Simpsons where Lionel Hutz says "imagine life without lawyers" and everyone is holding hands in a meadow singing songs about love and peace.

You can stick the lovefest idea up your clacker.

I'm going to smuggle in a slab of cans, write motivational messages on them and then chuck them at the intended players when they get close to the boundary fence.

Things like, "That's for not picking up your man Ward!" or "For God sake, eat something Lance! Who do you think you are? Nicole Ritchie?" or "Cameron Bruce. You are the new Brent Grgic".

I think that would inspire them.

I wanna go this this guy.:thumbsu:

if melbourne have any brains at all they will lose this week. carlton do not deserve another pick. the are the joke of the afl and shouldnt get so many handouts. also melbourne are kidding themesleves if they get shedy or connoly. sheedy is overated and connolly a proven failure

I believe Spirit of 26 is one of our veteran fans. Not sure how old exactly, but I think he has seen enough mediocrity over the past forty years.

P.S - How many drugs is Demetriou on?

AFL boss Andrew Demetriou has rejected suggestions Carlton will deliberately go out to lose their match against Melbourne this weekend and backed the controversial priority pick system.

Demetriou said consistently losing games had other negative spin-offs, including the prospect of coaching staff and players losing their jobs, supporter angst and financial implications from unhappy sponsors or lessened television appeal.

Yeah, I can see the massive financial implications for Carlton given that their chairman is ****ing loaded. And 'supporter angst' is a bit far fetched when none of the supporters actually want to win.

What a **** - I hope we win by 200.

Hahaha great thread. Maybe the players will join us to avoid the embarassment of scoring. Would love to see Byron Pickett of his face.

Boo-urns, anyway they should just play 426 and Phil Read highlights on the big screen

2004 finals. 50m out at the Southern Stand end on the boundary and THROUGH IT GOES. Greatest moment ever. We'll also need footage of him punching on with Derek Kickett.

Melbourne & Carlton stars in the nth season of Australia's Biggest Loser, whereby they must lose in order to win

This was suggested on MMM by Wil Anderson.

Both teams should line up in reverse and play a normal game of footy.

That way, its a high quality game.
Each score kicked is a behind to the other side.

Apart from the low scores (which will make for a tight game) the quality of play should be high as both teams attempt to kick the highest score, and lose.

Note to FB's - don't rush a behind off your boot!!!

Just a thought.:thumbsu:

Or both teams could show dignity and play a legitimate game of football. That's just crazy enough to work.
Pfft...........would never work.:D
