De Koning and Silvagni went to St Kilda for success? What success have St Kilda enjoyed in recent times they've won 1 final in 15 years and haven't been relevant since before Uber arrived in Australia.

Nobody joins a club for previous success, otherwise Carlton would be able to attract players. They're probably hoping for future success.

I would be shocked if Carlton got done currently for salary cap breaches.

Salary cap is like 17.7 to 18 million isn't it? So $450,000 for an average salary for 40 odd players


Salary cap will hit 20 million by the end of the decade. $500,000 a year for fringe and depth players seems reasonable

Players were queuing up to get out of Daicos FC at the end of 2025. Cameron, Cox, Elliott, Mihocek all wanted out. Two of them got stuck in the hell that will be playing for Collingwood in 2026. Imagine playing in a shyte team and into the bargain being told you have to give the ball to anyone named Daicos even if it means putting the team into a worse position.

But it's ok, your rebuild is well underway giving a top 10 pick and a rd 2 pick for 28yo Lachie Schultz.

Just mind the rocks on your way down the cliff face.

AFL fandom is crazy.

To be considered a successful club, you need to make finals 9 out of 10 years and never miss finals 2 years in a row. I would be absolutely thrilled to be “as bad as Richmond” over the next 10 years, if we have won 3 flags but “only” made finals 5 times.

TDK is a very good player. But he’s also a ruckman getting paid more than Grundy and Gawn combined.

What was wrong with my statement? Carlton has finished ahead of the Saints last 4 seasons played in more finals and won 2 of them, how many finals has St Kilda won in the last 4 seasons, so explain to me where I'm wrong. I'm not St Kilda bashing either and the 2 Carlton players you got haven't played a game for the Saints yet.

That is the difference between modern day AFL Carlton and VFL powerhouse Carlton.

VFL powerhouse Carlton would offer big $$ to attract star players to come play for them with the expectation they would continue to be successful.

Many other players like Callaghan turned down big offers from StK.
