Come on people, it was a good start with Kemp but it turned a bit scant and whimsical from then on, too much thinly spread icing and not enough cake. We've been there before (2017).

I disagree, think the types we selected have huge upside, yet they have shown they can find the pill and impact a game

RE: Martin...

From what I can tell, GC used all 5 of their picks, so cannot use a pick in the PSD.

Melbourne used 3 of their 5 I think, so they have 2 spots available on their senior list?

The more I read about Sam Ramsey, the happier I am about this pick.

Seems like a very good lad with a sensible head on his shoulders. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he gets a game in the season opener

Thanks for everything SOS. We will miss you greatly

Idk how you can criticise the Ramsay pick, Paf.

The guy averaged 25 disposals for the year in the TAC cup/NAB league playing through the midfield and off half back.

More than Dow, LOB and Stocker in their draft years.

He is fast, aggressive and can kick. On what basis is this a bad pick? And I know you are a proponent of the best available mantra, given how strong you were on the King twins despite us not having picks in their range and not desperately requiring them.

A bit of pressure on LOB next year I would think
Bit of competition now for spots.
I'd have thought the pressure was more on Dow than LOB, who really put in some great performances in the back half of the year.
Can't wait to see LOB on one wing and Martin on the other next year.

From a personal perspective, i've been on record for months saying the Champs were the lowest quality Champs i've seen in a fair while. So on that basis, i can't be disappointed with picking up the guy i rated No.1 coming out of them(Kemp) before he did his knee a week later. And then picking 2 guys (Philp and Ramsey) who didn't play Champs.

I don't know if Philp or Ramsey will make it, but i reckon there are some overhyped Champs players this year imo.

Did hurt a touch to see 3 of my favorites in Dev, Williams and Schoenberg go so soon after our 2nd pick, but i fully acknowledge we need speed options on our list and Philp is potentially an explosive type.

It was another fun buildup with lots of fun and interesting and knowledgable participants here and SOS goes out leaving a list of quality and quantity anyone bar GWS would drool over.

Over to Teague and AR and L.Power.

Don’t know anything about him, and I see he is not on the “Best Available” list. Obviously that list is not definitive, but what is it about Honey you like?

I've posted about him a lot over the past fortnight.

Basically I think he does a lot right and has a fair few attributes that will translate nicely at a higher level.

His pace is a weapon and he uses it effectively out of contested situations
He is very good defensively
He has clean hands in and out of the contest
He has a nice balance between contested and uncontested footy
He hits the scoreboard

His endurance is good, his disposal is generally very decent, though he is inconsistent and doesn't get a lot of the ball.

As an overall package I think he has real appeal alas it was not to be tonight.

I acknowledge I am no expert and I seem to be alone in rating him. But I would be surprised if he was overlooked completely.

We were linked to him on the AFL website during the week but I dare say we'll probably go with Webb over Honey for a rookie pick. Maybe we'll take two but we'll wait and see what happens tomorrow morning.

Over the past few weeks I have been big on Philp and on Honey. I guess I'll settle for a 50% hit rate.
