I’d be happy if we were able to draft Winder and Baldwin (back our medical and S&C teams to get him right) and given we’ve got them training with us, MacDonald and Griffin.

Beyond that I’d like to see us sign a seasoned ruckman for our VFL side as back up for TDK and Pitto.

That would round off a very successful off season for mine.

Who and who?

Asking about the bolded two - MacDonald and Griffin.

Sorry, on my phone, can’t see any formatting.

According to reports Oscar MacDonald and Jonathon Griffin are training with us.

I think you’ll find it’s Jonathon Marsh, ex-Pies and Saints.

I like the idea of Baldwin but don't you think two knee 'recos' is a bit much? I'd rather go for Rosman or Kolar (probably in that order of risk) even if they are more athletes than footballers at this stage. I think that's about the level to expect with our pick(s), unless we want to draft someone with a lower 'ceiling'. Rosman will be picked around that level while Kolar could go a little earlier or much later, but will arguably be available. I'm warming to the idea of Winder with our other pick, if he's still there.

Woodville West Torrens/South Australia
Midfielder

Poulter has a point of difference when assessing him against other midfielders in his part of the draft, and it is his height. The Woodville-West Torrens midfielder enjoyed a consistent and productive season, averaging 25 disposals and three clearances. He can play inside and outside and is a sweeping left-foot kick.

Where does he go? Appears set to be taken in the second round. Carlton has an interest and he could get through to their first pick at No.31. Adelaide is also a possible destination with its pair of second-round picks.

Two knees is definitely a massive concern but based on the little bit of footage I have seen of him, he looks like a genuine footballer with the main traits a look for in a key position player:
  • strong
  • ability to read the flight of the ball
  • clean hands
  • good skills
  • aggressive, happy to initiate body contact
I believe in our ability to help players recapture their best post ACL with the returns of Docherty and Setterfield, along with promising signs for Kemp and I think the massive doubts over Charlie's knee, a key position forward becomes a priority again, knowing that most quality KPFs are generally able to become KPDs should the need/opportunity arise.

Only a week to go until the draft now, I'm looking forward to seeing what we come up with.

Can anyone see a possible target to trade up with to get ahead of Crows picks.
