Well Gil is listening. Rumour that the midyear bye will be dropped in 2020

Wait for the melts from the Richmond board claiming it's Steve Hocking and Gerard Whateley driving it. ;)

We're better off forfeiting in protest of the reaming the AFL gives us with home finals, than serving up that shit.
The AFL would achieve opposite of its desired purpose, a nil attendance and profit. And we'd be in the same position, but at least it would stand for something.

This is it folks.

We are different this year.

If we fold again, be comforted in the fact that we have Richmond 2nd up and that streak still runs back to 2008

Haven't we already kinda broken the bye hoodoo - we beat the Hawks off a massive break between round 1 & 2

we then had 11 days between the Collingwood & Freo games, with a win over Freo, while we beat the Crows off a 9 day break

While we seem to be going ok off shorter breaks this year, we have also handled the extended breaks

is this confirmed? Seems no need for it now, just get the season over
Think it will depend on where the grand final is to be played & the structure of the finals series

If the grand final is in NSW there won't be a pre-finals bye as they'll want to play the GF on Oct 17 - the NRL have their GF on Oct 25, so the AFL gf would need to be the week before

If the grand final is played anywhere but NSW it will likely be played on Oct 24, so that means a pre-finals bye

I'm with you though - screw the bye and just get the games done

Not sure if this has been posted before but we are pretty handy the 2nd game after the bye... but no one likes to talk about that, that's less interesting
We have a 9 day bye this week, so those stats won't matter?

But yes, it's a good stat to have.

Really interesting table, Overhang.

So across the two games combined following a 'bye', we actually have the third-best winning percentage of all teams, behind only Hawthorn and Richmond.

You'll never hear anything about that stat in the media, though.
