Drove up from Melbourne for the praccy game last night and thought I'd leave some impressions.

Fairly scrappy and loose encounter between these two teams. Essendon looked to be almost full strength, Cats stil missing King, S Johnson, etc. Close all the way, with both teams playing in spurts.

Both teams class defenders picked off many wayward bombs into attack. Harley and Hunt were all class, Tenace looked BLOODY fast and Lingy and Dash racked up possies at will.

Kingsley and Ottens hardly sighted the ball, Big Brad looking lost at times, but dominated Ess rucks without Hille. H took some speccies but missed 1-2 set shots 30 metres out directly in front. Mackie's decision making and execution with the ball were p. woeful.

Good to see us finish pre season on a high and looking forward to the rematch at Telstra Dome.

Ill add to that.

Playfair continues to impress at CHF, took some really good marks and after missing 1 sitter was pretty good.

Ottens was great in the ruck imo, although he continues to get hounded by the media. He one lots of taps, albeit against and undermanned Essendon ruck division, but they were decisve and too Geelong players.

Egan impressed me on Lucas, although he made a few minor errors that cost goals all in all it was a pretty good game by him.

From what I have read Kelly, Bartel and Ablett were very good. We were without Moons and Matty so on the whole I think a good effort. Ottens will be okay just having problems working in with our guys but he will be fine. :)
