Preview Cats Game can set up our Season Either Way

I am thinking that this came can set up our Season because we seem them as the Team to Beat after the Saints lost Nick Riewoldt and come very Ordinary without him.

So If we win we could give the Confidence that we are the Best team in the Comp and No One can beat us as long as we play at our best. Also we could be 2 Games on top of the Ladder.

If We Lose we could really fall back and is it would really hurt the Psyche of the Side and they start to think they are no better then last year and we be still 2nd but they will not fill like the 2nd best team in the Comp.

Do you guys agree or not?

The fact of the matter is that Geelong thrashed us, and embarrassed our side in last years finals, so we will be out for revenge and to show the football world that we are up with the best of them. All I'm asking for is a close game - to show we can compete with the best team in the comp. If it blows out either way, questions will be asked.

Kind of agree, but even if we lost this one, we still have round 19 to get some confidence over them.

Honestly as good as they are, i will be disappointed if we lost. Without Ottens, if Jolly and Wood can't dominate against Blake and whoever it'll be a blow to my confidence of the team.

Agree with you,
They have dominated in the Ruck/midfield department against us in the last few games. Especially last year's prelim final.

Got my tickets M23 Row D right up where the action is.

There was an interesting stat raised on the radio on the weekend.

2008 - Geel D Haw in the blockbuster and Haw won the flag against Geel.
2009 - St.K v Geel in the blockbuster and Geel won the flag against St.k
2010 - Coll V Geel on the blockbuster and .....

i don't think that's true (as long as it's not a blowout)

at this point in time with our current squad, i think it's unreasonable to expect us to win every game... a loss will certainly hurt, but hey, there's lots of rounds left in the season

given the physically demanding style of football (high pressure, high tempo) that we play, i'm sure we'll face a slight form slump at some point in the season [rarely does a team go through an entire season in peak form] .. hopefully, we'll get that over with early and hit peak form again come September!

also Our badder Performances are against Poorer sides so we can get away with it;)

Blake was awful this week.

I'm sure that in the last 8-9 seasons the winning premiership side has lost it's previous home and away encounter against the side it beats to claim the flag. I recall the stat being mentioned last year going into the grand final and the fact that St Kilda had beaten us in the epic game mid year.

i went to the gabba on the weekend, blake had his best game for the year, his not as bad as people think he gets his hands on it around stopages, thats why he was ahead of mummy last year.

What was his opposition in the ruck though?

Leunberger was the only recognized ruck Brisbane has, and everyone knows he is struggling to make it at AFL level.

This week Blake has to contend with a top 5 ruckman in Jolly, and an equal (to Luenberger), if not better player in Wood.

I know Geelong have been using Hawkins in the ruck, but if they do that this week, we will just rub our hands together and take the clearances.

Plus our two rucks are coming off the hardest rucking assignment in footy (Sandilands) so Blake/Hawkins will be like going down to the VFL.

Blake is what you would call "servicable", so we should have a clear win in the ruck this week.

I'm not a renowned troll by any means but you must have very low expectations of Blake.

I still think it was the St kilda loss we needed for the reality check (could have won-but for inaccurate kicking) this game will be another H&A game as we will meet them again.
