Cats' golden era will stretch on: Ling

All I hope is that we manage our list appropriately, and never over-estimate where we are at.

I'm perfectly happy to fall down the ladder if we're clearly going the rebuild and turning over the list. I'd hate for us to do an Adelaide 2010 or Doggies 2011 and desperately try to cling on with the older blokes.

Re: Cats Golden Era to Strech on

interesting, do you think Collingwood will be in a similar boat once Tarrant, Maxwell, Davis, Jolly, Brown, Krakouer, Didak and Johnson etc retire in the coming years like Geelong's Corey, Scarlett, Milburn, Ottens, Ling, Wojak, Hunt and Chapman?

I reckon both Geelong and Collingwood have the best coaching staff and recruitment in the league and I personally can't see them dropping away soon. Geelong need to play Guthrie, Smedts, Schroder, Brown, Simpson, Vardy, Gillies and Cowan all of next season (at least 9 games for the new boys) and we are in a terrific spot for the coming years imo.

Wonders never cease - it's two paragraphs!:);)

Who ever thought cats were going to fail this year are fools ultimately. Once all of 30+ players retire things will start to play out. I reckon Geelong will still be kicking not top 4 but top 8 most likely providing their youngs are able to hold it together.

Sure are. And I made a work mates' wallet a little lighter because he suggested at the beginning of the season that the Cats would not make the eight.
