CEY or Lyons

CEY apparently wants to stay. Lyons apparently wants to stay.

Can we really keep both? Do we need both? Although different players, can you see them playing in the same team on a regular basis?

If not who do you prefer to keep. For mine it is CEY. Big bodied midfielders are hard to find. I am hoping that Thommo becomes a depth player to truly allow CEY to develop.

Of course this thread may be NULL and VOID by weeks end.....because they could be both gone. Who knows!!

Lyons is the better player, but CEY is the one with a 2017 contract.

Both are expendable as far as I'm concerned, but Lyons is the one who is less likely to be on Adelaide's list next year.

It's against my better judgment - but I'm a sucker for CEY.

There was a play in 2015, maybe v Melb I think. Wins the centre clearance, sprints away and kicks a 65m goal on the run.

Prob silly but I still believe there is something special there. I like JL, solid player - not that X factor though

We can trade CEY and gain a player similar to CEY.

Or we can trade Lyons and gain a better player through further trades

Only keep CEY if he's going to get a game with us. Been on the list since 2012 and played 14 games.

Lyons is gone, always set up for trade bait with the paltry contract offer.

Lyons is versatile enough to play forward and on ball and wins his own ball + kicks goals

CEY lacks versatility for mine and consistency of Lyons

I believe Lyons was left hanging to get the Gibbs deal done so if they not keen on Lyons let's keep him. Good solid player

If CEY < Lyons and you want to trade Lyons for being a better player.....why not just trade both....package them even.

Both players have their strengths, however one has points of difference to other kids we have in the mid. That player is CEY. Now selectors have to take advantage of that.

We get killed on the spread from contest because we're playing too many inside players.

Both CEY and Lyons should be moved on and pushed out. If Crows get Gibbs, CEY and Lyons have little chance of breaking into the side at all with Menzel, Milera, Wigg, etc all jostling for spots meaning guys currently in the 22 are going to be pushed out as well. CEY would be getting AFL games at another club and the Crows need to spell this out to him.

Lyons is the better, more consistent player. If they cost the same and had the same trade value I'd be keeping Lyons. The only factor to consider is that CEY is in contract and has less exposed form to warrant a good trade.

CEY has more potential but Lyons has had the better output so far at AFL level. Lyons has more trade value than CEY but I honestly think if CEY played in Lyons role this year their output would've been similar.

We might get a top-30 pick for Lyons. Nobody is going to be stupid enough to give us a top-40 pick for CEY.

The fact CEY is contracted probably puts him in the better position and I just wonder if CEY was afforded the same opportunities Lyons was this season what he might be capable of??
