Agreed, Treacy and Pearce were the far bigger outs.

Treacy is the one we didn’t win any games without. We had multiple wins without Pearce or Darcy in the team.

Talent wise no, but structurally he presents the same issues. He limits Jackson’s abilities to play his best footy (as Jackson is a ruckman, not a forward) and in the wet we will be way too tall.
Darcy is underdone and needs a month in the WAFL before you even consider it.

Better than an unfit Darcy certainly. He’ll run Witt’s ragged around the ground.
It is my strong view Jackson is one of the best rucks in the comp, so yes, he can match up on Witts.
Even if he loses the hit outs, that’s not the only aspect of being a ruckman.

Why do you think the game will be outside the stoppages such that Jackson can run Witts around the ground?

If Jackson loses the hit outs and GC mids clear the ball, it will be kicked 50m away from Jackson before he can get any running off Witts.

A dry game, I can imagine it works. Without our best defender and in the wet I think we need to win the ruck battle or we will start the game on the half back line.

With Aish, Draper, Fyfe and Darcy the 4 that have flown over presumably with the other 20 that played on Saturday, it's probably Fyfe sub, Banners, Darcy and Draper into the 22, and then Aish vs Voss for the final spot. Voss probably wins that one even if it looks weird structurally.
