Jake breaking his hand yesterday would be why we announced we were debuting someone 2 days before the teams are announced. Simmo doesn’t like giving early team news, but this one doesn’t actually answer who he is replacing as it could be a number of players.

Personally, I think the changes should be

In: Reid, Gov, Brander/Williams
Out: Ah Chee, Rotham (unlucky), Waterman (injured)

I see Reid a more Ah Chee replacement than I do Waterman or Cameron. Brander can play a similar role to Waterman.

It's hard, we've gone from our forward line being our absolute strength to the position that worries me the most. Midfield is stacked and healthy, backline is functioning great as a unit and a lot of good players are getting kept out of there.

Meanwhile our tall forwards are looking great but since 2018 our smalls have gone from LeCras (old but still hit the scoreboard and decoyed well for JK/JD, Cripps (in far better form than now), Rioli and Ryan, all of whom were dangers at the time to be multiple goal scorers.

To AhChee, Cameron, Ryan and Cripps (in worse form.) None are running at over a goal a game at the moment which is worrying, obviously there's a lot more to the position but scoring danger still the most crucial imo. Very excited to see Reid, hopefully he adds a bit of spark. Also would still be keen to see how Jetta does on a HFF.

Who do people see as our ideal small forward lineup going into finals? I'd hope for Ryan and Cripps to get back into form, then JJ and ?

Need the group firing and all looking dangerous if we're to beat teams like Richmond and Port in a final

Yep all players need to be firing

JJ won't be back this year.

Brander in for Waterman significantly decreases the campaigner levels of the team too much though imo.

This is why I would rather see that ginger campaigner Bailey come in at some point instead.
The scrimmage looked like a Bailey Williams highlight reel . Umteen marks , goals and some good groundball moves for a big bloke .

Terrible for Muddy was in good form got of the chain. I guess in comes Williams to either/forward ruck. We will miss Waterman running power

Might make us tall but can Allen play Watermans role? Bring in Bailey to replace Allens role. Both are very mobile for their size ...BUT we would have land of the giants playing.
I agree we can rotate Williams and Allen in the ruck/forward

Jake was playing ripping footy, 3-4 weeks bad but better than season ending

As agile as Allen is I don’t think we can play all of NicNat/Williams/Kennedy/Darling/Allen on a wet deck.

Reid for Waterman this week. See how the new bloke goes and Williams can replace one of him or Cameron (or maybe Arch) the following week, assuming it’s a drier day.

Imagine someone grabbing a two second clip of you in a meeting at work and trying to read into it as much as you idiots all are.

You're all overreacting to an embarrassing degree
And not just in this thread. Is it the pandemic? It's like the board has turned into North Melbourne in trade week.

Interesting, we may be jumping to conclusions in the Brander/Williams V Reid debate.
