In 2024 if Essendon could choose between Finlayson and Goldstein they would choose Finlayson.

So, Saints have Marshall, one of the top rucks in the game. He attended 70 ruck contests…. 70… the only other Saint who contest a ruck contest was Owens. Owens is a 191cm key forward, who won ZERO hit outs.

I agree that Owens had a significant height differential, but it shows that rucking key forwards, who have no ruck craft does not work. Particularly against a 317 game veteran who will go down as one of the greats of the craft.

Yes, Goldstein is not at his peak anymore, but if you put Finlayson in there, with that rubbish “no ruck” approach, watch the silver service to Parish and co. Remember the Essendon game at AO last year? Port were destroyed in the first half by a poor midfield starting with the ruck.

As for your second point, really? Why would Essendon offer him a FA contract then if not to play him? He has played 3 games so far and its not like they have others they regularly play that can pinch hit, like Wright (acknowledge he is currently suspended). I would suggest they view him as in their best 23.

I reckon he rolled his ankle in the maggies game, so they replaced him with Clurey as an emergency.

I guess he's fine now, he trained yesterday.

I assumed because Williams was Power emergency on the Saturday, he couldn't play in a Friday Maggies game. So went without a game on the weekend, after only playing a half the week before...

I’d like to see Farrell moved into mcentee’s role. If we are going to play a defensive forward at least Farrell has a weapon in his game that impacts our scoring.

Bergman should go back he has a real presence in the backline and I’d like to see Burgoyne or maybe sinn up into that wing role.

Mcentee just doesn’t influence games in any way

Also drop finlayson for Georgiades to give him a rev up
