Smith hasn't won me over yet, but his endeavour tonight was really good, created a few turnovers which was good enough to keep ahead of Wagner I think

I think Lewis has been good for the club, but let's be honest, we can't carry him next year. Him and Vince have to retire. At least half a dozen times or more in a game you hear the commentators say ''Lewis couldn't get to the contest'. He makes farcical and costly brain fades which has cost us dearly over the last year or two. No way he or Vince can play 2019.

Lewis didn't meet his brain fade quota this week which is nice. He played much better than recent weeks, but I can't say he did anything worthy of his reputation and name. There was no desperate effort to nullify or win a contest, mainly because he's never in the contest. He's become a vanilla plodder.

Yup. He did some useful things around the ball, a few neat possessions, a lot of meh handballs but he's not getting to contests. In broken play, ie we turn it over, he has no capability to go with his man... any man, really. It's hard to see where we can play him without him getting exploited for speed. Need a Petty, Smith or Frost to step up and become a consistent 6th defender.

Lewis has some composure, but he's not immune from rushed disposals / mental brain farts. Been a fair few times this season you can see him throw out a panicked handball or rushed kick because he knows he doesn't have the pace to pickup that fraction of a second or evade an oncoming tackler so he can pick his pass.

Edit: Also, what's the go with someone becoming the "new whipping boy" as soon as someone mentions something negative about a particular person? You've had a bee in your bonnet over a few guys getting criticized. It's a discussion forum...

Lewis was pretty meh the entire game, not just the last quarter.
