Should be a comfortable win but just the 4 points will do, the only change I could see happening is Fort in, the dilemma is for who? Gunston? Joyce?

Zac Bailey, Hugh McCluggage, Brandon Starcevich, Jarrod Berry still not back to their best, hopefully it comes back soon.

Out- Jack Gunston.

In- Darcy Fort.

Could we go smaller in the forward line? Forward pressure continues to be an issue. We know we won't get it from Joe and Hipwood and Gunston is way too slow

Also, might be an option to go smaller down back. Assuming they weren't happy with Joyce before subbing him off

I agree with going smaller but who do we bring in to supply that pressure? Lohmann, Robertson, Ah Chee, Answerth?

Down back I would be omitting Rich for Prior but it will never happen, also if we went smaller down back Madden for Joyce.

We need to prepare for games against the other flag contenders, I am still worried about us in transition/turnover against the best opposition, Giants showed us up a few times yesterday with quick run and gun footy.

Yeah several options based on VFL form

Would like Dev and Ah Chee

Also Tunstill to sub

Fages made a point in his presser that our team was not yet used to honoring Gunston's leads. Which seemed a little strange and was not apparent on any vision I saw.

So as far as factoring in any changes Gunston won't be omitted in the foreseeable future.

We seem to be scoring just fine without honouring his leads but are getting hurt on the rebound which Gunston is contributing to.

I generally try not to individualise but I'm a little miffed by how come we have been singling out Starce over the last few weeks.

I think he's been pretty decent, and I think yesterday you'd have taken 22 and 2 for Greene if we'd been offered that pre game. His 2 goals were both from long range and one of them was from the boundary so sometimes you just have to dip your lid and say "well done".

Thought Starce played him pretty well; had the chance to watch that match up a fair bit off the ball also.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wilmot needs a rest at some point. Only changes I'd make are for those needing a rest, otherwise unchanged.

The hate towards Gunston is odd. The guy had four shots, 16 pressure acts and 10 score involvements. Yes, he's no longer in his prime but as our sixth forward, he is an asset and - hate to say it - better than Fort.

Yeah he was ok but there were several examples of him being way too slow to get close to his opponent who setup a shot going the other way

I think if he ends up with a quicker opponent oppositions will start exposing him

When Charlie went off for a rest they were slinging it out of deep in our forward half for goals with very little defensive pressure applied. I thought that was a worrying aspect of the game if you want to worry about something.

Yes it reminded me of the Collingwood game from last year in that sense.

fremantle is incredibly down on form and confidence. im not usually one who cheers for coach sackings, but we need to belt fremantle so hard to the point that nobody is forced to watch longmuir's gameplan ever again. for the good of the game
Whilst I agree with you 100%, they are gonna absolutely cop it in the media this week. Much like the Bulldogs did in the lead up to Round 3...

That's true, although they already have been copping it in the media for a few weeks over in WA. Especially after the loss to North at home (still can't believe that happened).

Joyce has been solid filling that 3rd tall role. Nothing more nothing less.
Teams need these sorts of players, but top 4 teams need to somehow find better options.
Yesterday he was subbed out for the final quarter.
That may indicate he could be replaced next week.
Or a wakeup call that his spot even as Gardiners replacement is in jeopardy. If so, they may give him another shot to improve.
Gardiner did not play in the VFL, and another poster mentioned he has another different type of injury.
Either way Gardiner should not play in the seniors next week.
Lester could fill the role but i feel that is a backward step future wise and he is a bit undersized anyhow.
Gunston could go into defense but i don't really like that move at present. Gunston needs to get used to playing that 3rd KPF "team" role.
Although the Gunston move makes a case for Fort or Fullarton.

In the preseason i thought Fullarton should be trialed as the 3rd tall defender. It was a spot we obviously needed a few options coming into round 1.
He was given a few goes down back and was fine. But switched around to forward & ruck also during this period.
Unlike Rayner who was given every chance to slot into a defense role, playing and training as a defender.
Now Fullarton is mainly a forward in the VFL. Playing well but a wasted (AFL learning in the VFL) defense opportunity in my opinion.

Changes- Most likely they retain the same side. They could place "Managed " against someone.

My only unforced change would be Fullarton/Fort for Joyce.
If Fullarton - He can just play defense. Or the 2nd option (not preferred) Gunston to defense Fullarton forward.
If Fort - He plays forward and Gunston to defense being my 2nd but less preferred option.

i think we subbed joyce off in response to himmelberg going behind the ball when taylor went down

no need for a third tall when gws were playing a smaller forward line after that point

Joyce does a good solid job, doesn't make many blatant errors and doesn't do any eye catching good stuff, good back up.

Gardiner is injured again unfortunately.
Could it be safe to assume that he might never play for our AFL side ever again?

The amount of injuries the poor bloke has had in his career, just gotta feel sorry for him
