Khawaja for Warner would be good but would never happen.

Lyons finger seems to have caused him serious trouble as has been terrible in the last two innings.

No one better to come in though and we'll back him in again

Only probable change is Cummins out for Bird if injured. Warner, Marsh, Wade, SOK or any other past/present whipping boy won't be axed.

If Lyon can't get up (he'll play) it throws a spanner into the works as the replacements on tour are another left armer who's played 2 tests and a leggie who's played none.

Depends on the pitch. Dharamsala could be absolutely anything given its reputation.

Assuming no injury and if the pitch resembles any of the first three, no changes.

If the pitch resembles Nagpur 2004 (a more pace-friendly deck) then IMO Bird should come in for Lyon. IMO SOK is more suitable for a more defensive strategy wherein we seek to choke India's run-rate, which we have been largely successful at this series.

Would be a bold move to drop Lyon but the selectors have made bold decisions this tour. If his finger is no good then there's no point playing him.

Any word on how our bowlers have pulled up?

Only thing I've heard about is Lyon's blisters.

Anyone know anything about Cummins?
I haven't heard anything in the media. Cummins bowled 39 overs, which in a match isn't a huge amount, but due to all being in one innings and not having much of a break you'd think he'd pull up a bit sore after having only one FC game. Hopefully a decent run in the ice bath has sorted him out because he was our best bowler by a mile.

Depending on how the pitch looks/ how players have pulled up , i would keep the team the same. However if the pitch looks to seam or Lyons finger is still giving him grief i would go Bird in for Lyon. We then have 2 decent line and length fast bowlers and 1 strike fast bowler. Having Maxwell and O'Keefe as the spinners means we have variety in the spin department as well.

Must win last test, they're not going to roll the dice with Khawaja or someone else now - every single other batsmen in the playing team has made some form of contribution (however inconsistent); even Warner's at least got over 30 twice.

They're just not going to drop him.

I agree that they are not going to drop, but it's been the manner of his dismissals as much as anything that has annoyed me, he seems to put zero value on his wicket.

Agree with this.

Surely the Indian's the master of doctoring pitches will produce a result pitch.

They won't drop Warner, but they should.

No changes, however I'd monitor Lyon. If he can't bowl, then Agar comes in.

He's been able to bowl, so I imagine they will back him in.
Although he hasn't seemed effective
Ashwin as well seems to be carrying a finger injury and hasn't been his usual self either.

It would be a huge gamble to bring in Swepson for instance and also get more overs out of Maxwell. But it's perhaps the sort of gamble we'd need to take to win the series.

Conservative approach would be to keep it the same and try to bowl tightly enough to draw.
