Yeah, good luck to the boys - great to see a couple of youngsters tested against some big bodies.

One of them will be the sub, you would suspect. I am hoping Elliot gets a pretty full run.

Can't wait to see Elliott. Haven't had a kid really debut with a bang since Pendlebury.

Or maybe even Cloke

Sidebottom, Clarke and even Tooves had better debuts than Pendles and all were after him too.

In fact, I recall Pendles first game being rather uninspiring. He was all class, but had no engine whatsoever and played on a forward flank and didn't win much ball.

Does that mean we hv used 35 players so far?? Crazy numbers.

Williams is more of a midfielder, whilst Elliott bring played up forward.

Hopefully Wellingham gets more midfield time this week

Good ins again

Daisy's debut against the Crows was pretty damn good

in; Douglas
out; Lynch omitted

chris knights most likely to be delisted first.
too injury prone only had one good season 2009.
if he is not kicking long goals, he is of no real value

Chris Knights is an emergency, he is an unrestricted free agent.

Should be a high target come the off season for us, he is quality.
He was quality 3 years ago. Inconsistent before that and ruined by injury since. I tend to think he's lost his weapons but if he leaves and returns to 09 form at another club I will be beyond pissed. :p

I was at that match. Bucks kicked 6 goals and got about 30 touches! It was great sitting in the stands cheering Bucks on and watching him embarrass Mal Michael; what an absolute champion!

Apart from that, I also noticed Pendlebury and knew that he had something, which he has since proven that he does. That being said I wouldn't go as far as saying he debuted with a "bang". He definitely did well, but 2007 was the year he really stepped up.

Is everyone expecting a win from this game? I think we'll probably win it, but I won't be too disheartened if we don't come away with the points considering all of our injuries.

Clearly Elliot will be given Sinclair's forward pressure role, releasing Sinclair into much more of the midfield rotation (which he has been doing a fair amount of recently anyway) to cover for Swan. Very unlikely Elliot would be able to be an effective midfielder in his first AFL game. Absence of Swan and Ball and lack of fitness of DAisy will be (partly) compensated by sheer weight of numbers through the midfield rotations. Obviously Elliot is unlikely to be as effective as Sinclair in the defensive forward role at this stage, but it's probably the best we can do under the circumstances.

To see so many youngsters brought in asap shows a great development mindset.

It's terrific to have excellent coaching at Collingwood for the first time in 12 years or so. Things looking v bright for the Buckley era.

as i said early in the week, i wanted 4-6 new players gain at least 2 games (extra) experience during the 3 weeks before the bye, with the standouts given further opportunity post bye. we needed to blood these guys to ensure we have some additional backup should we need to rest any players closer to finals, or even (dont think it) need to cover for injuries.

I'm pretty sure it'll be Wellingham spending more time in the middle not Sinclair, have we already forgotten what he did last time Swan was out VS Melbourne? :)

No way have we got no chance, Ball went down and a few boys stood up, it'll happen again and be a close game!!

Wellingham's role has already been stepped up when Ball went down. Perhaps even more now but that goes for the whole midfield - a lot of runners could be rotated through at different stages - toovey, gsack, buckley, shaw etc. But Elliot specifically will (potentially) free up Sinclair more and I don't see elliot getting much midfield time, maybe a taste here and there which is good development coaching. Actually I'd like to see Shaw dev'd more as a midfielder, he might become another A grade mid - Tony Shaw with afterburners.

I like the ins. Been looking forward to seeing these two get a go.

One of them will more than likely start as the SUB - im leaning towards Williams.

Possible line up -

B - Toovey Keeffe O'Brien
HB - Shaw Maxwell Clarke
C - Thomas Beams Wellingham
HF - Didak Cloke Blair
F - Fasolo Dawes Goldsack
R - Jolly Pendlebury Sidebottom
INT - Buckley Elliott Sinclair
SUB - Williams

Goldsack may have to start in defence if they go tall.
