Putting another ordinary player in an already ordinary backline wont make any difference.

We'd be better off bringing Fisher in and sticking him in the goal square and playing Hendo in defense.

If we're going to use Lachie in defense, I'd rather Fisher came in.

Been in very good form in the VFL, including kicking a couple in the elimination final on the weekend..

He's not as athletic as Hammer, but I'd back to mark 8/10 times, where-as with Hammer, you never know.

Is that you Starchamber

Yes Fisher is a very good VFL player ......... PERIOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wonder if bower could go forward if the team was in trouble to swing either waite or henderson back. ratts does have a penchant for changing the forward line in a crisis (scotland, simpson). would certainly be a load off bower's mind. had a taste during the bombers game ;)

we need to be cleaner into the fwd 50 (problem every week) otherwise sydney's band of running backs will cut us to shreds. unless the small fwd's apply lots of pressure.

Betts is out of form and out of puff, he did this last year where his last few games he does nothing. Compusure and experience lost us the game against Fremantle.

So given this i don't why Davies has been palying the last few games. Dont get me wrong he has potentail but finals are different very different. I would bring in Thorton and play him forward or even Fisher,.Walker has been very dissapointing for NO 2 pick, who has had a lot of injuries and has not learnt what contested footy is. Tackling is bad maybe due to shoulder. Hadley is a must, Mclean is too risky with little fitness!!

So is Walker, yet people want to bring him in, someone who cant tackle, cant defend and cant kick, to replace AJ....

So, if they want to bring in a player who will most certainly give us nothing in a final, may as well bring in Fisher and sit him in the square and let him grab a few.

Based on the fact that the Waite/Henderson combo has worked well in the last month, do not see that this will change this week, Henderson will not play down back.
Fisher has played one game for the year, you really think he is going to be brought in for a final, highly unlikely.
As for our defence, if anyone comes in it would have to be Thornton, otherwise Ratten will stick with the same group.

The suggestion of Waite following Goodes on the last page could be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard (no offense, I'm sure you're a smart lad whoever you are!!)....there is no way Fisher comes in, even though he has started taking marks in the VFL he still can't kick straight. If the rumours are true then looking forward we are better off playing Hampson in a final ahead of Jacobs, perhaps bringing in Hadley for hardness (not McLean, not prepared for a hard final!) and back our guys to run Sydney off their legs! If Carrazzo has to go out then who comes in to tag ROK?? Can't let him run around like he has this past month...deadly footballer!

Swans to recall trio but Bradshaw to wait

SYDNEY Swans coach Paul Roos will resist the temptation to recall Daniel Bradshaw for Sunday’s elimination final against Carlton at ANZ Stadium after the forward pulled up well from his first game in three months.

It was reported on Sunday that Bradshaw had re-injured his troublesome knee in his hit-out with the Swans reserves.

While Bradshaw must cool his heels for another week, Roos is likely to recall Dan Hannebery, Tadhg Kennelly and Shane Mumford for the clash against the Blues.

Small forwards the key for Blues
"I think the form in our front 50m has been the indication for our team success,'' Ratten said today.

"I think when they are up and going and locking the ball in and really presenting well it allows our team defence to set up and things like that.

"They sort of hold the key this week I think, it will be about how well Jeff Garlett and Eddie Betts really hold that footy in there, or mark the footy in the front 50m.''

Blues need to learn lesson: Judd
"It would be great for this group to win a final," said Judd, who captained West Coast to a premiership in 2006 against Sydney.

"It would be a great reward for our fans as well who in the last decade haven't had a lot of finals to go and watch.

"In finals you just can't afford to take your foot off the pedal, whether that is in the first quarter for 10 minutes or the last quarter for 20 minutes, like happened last year.

"That whole time, the group have to be concentrating and all pulling in the same direction.

"We got a lesson from last year but by the same token we also played some pretty good footy there for three quarters.

"Hopefully some of the players will take some confidence out of that."

Since LRT, Mumford, C.Bolton, Bradshaw, Hanneberry, Kennelly and Seaby missed the last round, someone should ask Hutchy why they're playing finals without these players.

I thought Sydney were on the slide?

Good depth with Johnston and Veszpremi on the sidelines.

I would select Warnock and Hampson to go up against Mumford and Pyke who are mobile.

Sauce has the strength, but wouldn't be able to go with these players around the ground.

Hampson showed a bit up forward against Sydney this year.

In: Hadley (his experience and hardness would be perfect for Sydney) Walker
Out: Robinson Carrazzo (next to no chance if he's 50/50)

This is FINALS we are talking about.

What has Walker got to do with Fisher.

No time to include players that haven't earnt their spot.
No time for sentimentality at the business end of the season !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Fisher has played well in the VFL & kicked a few, but any senior listed player can play well in the VFL when they play with Rookies.

So what does Fisher do after he grabs a few ..........

Kick it out on the full maybe or get caught unaware
FFS he cannot kick straight.

FYI posters on here DO NOT select the team, the MC does & I have every faith in the MC !!!!!!!!!!

99 games, 126 goals he can kick goals and did you see that kick by Grigg in front of goals and he kicked it out on the full.I don't think he has kicked it that bad.

Did you see Judd kick it out on the full last week against the Cats

So long as they don't bring Mclean in. Watched the VFL game - he's a long way off it. Worried that his name's even being mentioned by Ratten.

Looks 100% certain Carrazzo won't play. So Walker will come in. Robbo made a few mistakes, but I love the guys attack on the footy. Could still play an important role as a defensive forward. I'd prefer him ahead of Hadley, but reckon Hadley's a strong chance. The Hampson V Jacobs debate is an interesting one. Jacob's form is fantastic, and it's hard to ignore. Hampson is being selected because he's more of a forward target, but he didn't do well in the ruck or up forward against the Purple Game Throwers, so his spot will be under scrutiny. But do we need 2 specialist rucks against the Swans? Warnock plus a part-timer would probably suffice. Not sure if we have a another forward option who can play ruck. Setanta is the only other option, and I'm not sure he even played in the VFL last week. Kruezer would play that role perfectly.

:)

Yes ROK, Carrazzo is pretty important for our structure, so I suppose Walker, bit of a shuffle around.

We really need to take advantage of forward 50 entries, score at every opportunity, none of this off the side of the boot or out on the full, we gotta nail em , the kill ya on the rebound otherwise. 100% contribution from everyone from the start and we;re in with a chance, like to see Waite have a massive impact on the game...our x factor, Kade Simpson has been awsome, another biggie from him, we can win it

No he didn't, he had the flu and missed the game.

I'd expect Waite to have a blinder (he seems to against us), FWIW; this week Kennelly and Hannebery are due to return with Mumford about a 60/40 with Bradshaw about 40/60 and McGlynn, may play with painkillers, as this is a final. I'd expect two of Rohan, Meredith, Reid and White to be omitted.

At the moment I'm thinking these are the changes I'd be implementing:

OUT: Carrazzo (if injured), Hampson
IN: Hadley, Jacobs

Fairly straight forward, I would have thought.

Davies is another that may make way for Thornton/Walker but I'm not sure I'd like to see that.

Copy cat :p
