S Gray and Amon out
Pittard and Atley or Ah Chee in
This, I don't like singling out players but I think Amon played the worst 10 minutes of his career in the 3rd quarter where their momentum just swallowed him & everything he did turned to crap.

3 direct turnovers & a holding the ball lead to a few of their goals, he'll learn from it and improve but atm I don't think he's in our best 22 when it comes to tough games against quality opposition.

Young also very poor just couldn't get involved & Sammy didn't have his best night, could've been the hero kicking that snap goal needed to be more composed.

Ryder depends on if they have video of what he was retaliating to and if it was proportional.

Arch most likely from the B's. I'd play Austin simply because we need a full back/chb and it isn't Jonas or Clurey.

In: Arch/Austin/Pittard
Out: S.Gray/Ryder/R gray if injured or Amon if not.

Assuming Ryder gets a game which he almost certainly will as the media are all over it already.

I reckon Ryder will be in trouble tbh, hopefully he just cops a fine...

If he goes out we have to bring in Lobbe or Frampton.

Otherwise I would be dropping Young for Matt White, and Eddy for Pittard.

On face value S Gray made those same turnovers in the first two weeks but we've tended to overlook his exclusion because we're been distracted by the win.

Maybe a question mark on Eddy as his opportunities to score next week will be very difficult to come by. I doubt he'll have the time/space/clean deliveries next week to really create something. He's better suited to lighter opposition to get his confidence up, like Carlton/Brisbane. I think you play him but wouldn't be surprised if he gets dropped and brought back for the Carlton game.

Clurey for me is a case of 2 bad plays for 1 good one. Just seems out of his depth.
Comment on Sam fair enough, but Clurey is a good solid defender who's only getting better - played OK I thought.

Ins - Pittard - had his run for fitness, no brainer to settle defense.
Atley or Drew to debut.

Outs - Sam Gray. In big games his lack of size and composure shows. Good depth, but not a player for a top 4 sides best 22. He's no Caleb Daniel exception to the 'no small mids' rule.
Jonas - he's shown he can't match fast players and GWS is stacked with them.

Jonas out? What a horrendous call, and I've been a huge detractor of Jonas over the past two years.

Hah, funnily enough it actually was a Riley.

lol when there was the scuffle after that incident miss feel says in a bewildered fashion "Looking at the big screen, it looks like there is like seven of the same crows bloke involved in that scuffle, it looks really weird."

I told her to assume they were all called Riley.

Omit: Amon, sGray

Injured, Young (shoulder), possibly rGray (get his groin fixed, forget the cotton wool approach) and Hartlett (possible hammy).

In: Ah Chee, White and Pittard, Austin and maybe Frampton.

Provided that we are OK with Ryder, R Gray and Hammer, the outs could be Amon, Impey or S Gray. I think Young will be OK just a bad day at the office. Who deserves to be selected from the 2's - who knows?
Amon is a bit too small, I've now worked out that Impey is a bit lazy and S Gray definitely tries. We must keep Eddy & Dixon in the same team.
Anyway it's no all doom & gloom as we pushed a definite top 4 team to within 17 points. Not bad considering some silly errors that still slip into our game.

I think Ryder will cop at least 2. The fact he went after knight means intent.

I really love S Gray, he has a crack but he's not AFL standard. Amon concerns me in that he goes missing in these big games. GWS will kill us with their leg speed and their big forwards of Lobb, Patton and Cameron. With no Hombsch and Austin not currently deserving of a run in the AFL it could get scary.

Ryder is getting up off the deck at the start of the footage they show, so he's clearly retaliating. I wonder what the first hit gets. He got up and kicked the ball without an issue so I'd hope we argue it's a shot to the chest with the same force Knight had used 5 seconds earlier to knock Ryder down.

If they determine that Ryder got him in the head we're probably looking at 3 down to 2 medium impact, or 2 down to 1 low impact if we're really lucky. Given he got up and kicked the goal it wont be any more than that.

Out- Sam Gray (everything he does turns to shit), Amon (sorry but the kid just doesn't have it in him IMO)

In- Matt white or Brendan Ah chee for S Gray, Pittard for Amon

Also maybe we should drop Broadbent for Krakouer

My partner is a neutral who just comes along to games because of me. I missed the Ryder incident but my partner said Ryder was retaliating to something a crow player did. That's all I know but you can bet your bottom dollar that the media in this state will ensure its blown up out of all proportion. Having said that we need to be more disciplined. We played right into the scum's hands again.

No way Ryder can be suspended based purely on video evidence. It would need a bad medical from the crows.
.

You're forgetting the commentators. Pavlich was pretty keen to announce "oh yeh, he's got him there" so Roo jumped in with more speculation "could be a fist to the jaw"

Something along those lines, nobody could really see on the initial replays but all were happy to assume the worst.

Pavlich disappointed me throughout the game with his bias.

FiveAA will ensure it's front and centre in the media and Roo will do his bit on MMM. It still shits me ROO AND COWEY are allowed to commentate OUR home showdown. Sick of Port constantly getting the raw end of the media stick and always having to push uphill.
