There will likely be some outrage about Hickey, but probably not a bad time to give him a spell. I realize the bye was just recently, but a rest now should be good for him to finish the season strong without running him into the ground. Smith, Dixon and Hall will have to survive. I expect Smith will spend most of the game rucking though.

Horsley just hasn't impacted the way he had at the beginning. Not surprising to see him omitted.

Welcome back Swallow, and well done on the debut for Josh! Also good to have Azza back after some standout performances in the 2s.

Here's your outrage!

They better be resting him because if he's been dropped due to form...

Rarely will they say 'rested' in the reasoning why.

I guess we'll know once the NEAFL teams are announced. Since he's listed as an EMG, there is a chance is may not play at all this week, or maybe just pulled up sore? Either way, they have to manage is load. I would rather they rest him this week and have him play the rest of the season out well, rather than blow up in 2 weeks and be gone for the rest of the season. We need Hickey most against the Dees and GWS.

My powers of foresight are great. :D

How does Hickey get omitted and a spud like Patrick remain. Absolutely unbelievable.

Yep - It sucks about Hickey. Patrick would be wanting to play a better game this week and get rid of those damn Snoop Dog pigtails too !

Sure is good to see Swallow back though - his never say die attitude may be the tonic we need for our first victory !

What a joke...lost a defender and have brought in forwards and midfielder only? McKenzie in the back line again is asking for trouble!!

To be honest, I daresay Patrick is playing for his future right now. Giving him consistent games to determine whether he's worth keeping on or not.

Wet weather footy does not produce his finest work though. He needs a dry track to do his things, and can regress quite badly in the wet stuff.

My guess is he will be the travelling emg. They won't risk travelling without one this time round..don't want another Taylor debacle!:D

Sunny it was dry on Sunday and his efforts were cringeworthy, totally out of his depth.

No Iles, Russell or Lynch is a bit sad, though happy for both of them to work there way back into contention. Iles was not a standout last week in the NEAFL unfortunately.

Regarding defenders, I'll be happy so long as Weller, Stanley, Harbrow and Warnock stay down there. Does anyone really think Brennan will play at CHB after his great display against the Cats up forward? Please. :D

If I had to guess, Dixon will spend more time down back again. He may not be the quickest unit, but his read of the play is very good, allowing him to take those intercept marks. Same with Stanley.

I realize it was dry against Geelong. I was more talking about the wet-weather for Cairns, since it's predicted to be raining up there on Saturday.

I agree with you that he was one of our worst against the Cats. But dropping him back to the NEAFL where we know he will do well, rather than seeing what he can do consistently at AFL level for a few weeks will do a lot to determine whether we keep him on the list or not.

Who knows? Maybe he'll have a break-out game this week and kick 4 goals. :D

Kinda borderline racist shit right there fella....how the dude chooses to wear his hair is no more or less deserving of mention then the silly molded spikes and bieber haircuts the rest of the under 21 footballers we play choose to wear. Have a shot at his performance but pretty unnecessary to single him out for a dumb haircut.

Explain to me why it was racist.

A big reason why we won last year up in Cairns was Bocky absolutely towelled up Riewoldt. Jack didn't look like he was having the best day, headspace looked kinda out of whack, but Bocky still put in a massive performance to shut him down.

Warnock is going to have to stand up for us to have a chance. Him or Dixon I guess.

I think it was a combination of Bock doing a number on him and Jack playing injured. If I recall correctly, Jack had something like 7 surgeries immediately following the H&A season. Hips, ribs, shoulders and a few other things.

Could be his turn to kick a bag. He kicked 1.5 or something last week, so he'll be looking for a big number. We need to do better than Melbourne. If we double team him like we did Hawkins, we should fair alright.

With Hickey not playing - who is going to share ruck duties with Zac? I assume they will get Dicko to be be 2nd ruck. It would be a bit hard on him to also try and quell Riewoldt.

With Hickeys recent form he should of been picked in front of Zac IMO.

It's not,

BTW, I find your avatars yellow block like face disturbing and unusual. OHH NOOOOOOO

I certainly didn't mean it to be racist. Without googling, there is only one man that i know who wears pigtails and that man is Snoop. A laid back character for sure.

Realistically we don't have a leg to stand on given our history other than we beat you last year :p

Enough said! Hard for Richmond supporters to justify any kind of cockiness this week also.
