Well everyone. Have a nice night.

Tomorrow morning go for a sunrise walk on the beach, go for a bike ride with your kids, pour a bit of baileys in your coffee. Do whatever you do that makes you happy and forget about the suns for a week. It’s the only way to follow our suns.

See you in next weeks game day thread.

Mixed feelings. Rage and disappointment, obviously.
But then again more scoring shots and dominated in the last when it mattered. They were out for a scalp tonight.

Doesn’t explain how our midfield struggled against one of the worst in the league.
Is Richmond’s the worst in the league? Not making excuses for what was dished up, but Nank, Taranto and Hopper isn’t exactly bad.

Overall, Richmond wanted it more. We let them get fired up and got jumped early. We wasted chances in the 2nd quarter with a string of behinds and did nothing in the third. Then came (too) late and hard.

Bad teams beat good teams all the time. We’ve done it enough times. Just sucks being on the receiving by end.

Long can hold his head high. Three great marks. Little else to say, really. Our forward line was a real mess. Too inexperienced and it was only a matter of time until it looked like this…

What a bitter pill to swallow though, and ruins an extra long weekend.

100% they kicked really well. Rogers and Witts missing easy shots / long post and mac giving a goal away…

We got what we deserved
I was right behind the goals in the cheer squad, just so many easy shots they made look difficult.
Also kicking looked off. Don't think they applied the killer instinct pressure they should have. And falted when Richmond seem to pressure the ball carrier.
Kicking always to the wing, I felt they got killed on the spread, on the outside after the midfield lost the battle. It was pretty disappointing to watch

I all went south in the third quarter.

They kicked a few 15% goals and also got some very lucky bounces.

Momentum is hard to arrest in situations such as this.

I wouldn't despair too much at what was in the end a narrow but gutsy loss for the Suns.

It's always hard to win in Melbourne. We know....we blew it many times at the MCG and at other venues when we were supposed to win.

In previous years, your team would have totally capitulated but they didn't

They'll get there eventually.

Really pathetic performance really.

The players rolled in expecting an easy weekend in Melbourne, got matched early and sh*t the bed and only stood up once it was too late. Thought Hardwick had a shocker as well.

These games happen, but yet another match where the playing group gets ahead of themselves and end up getting embarrassed. That deep-seated mentality hasn’t changed unfortunately.

What did he say?
Standing there with a smile saying it’s pretty disappointing and then dropped the “we’ve got some pretty young guys” (it’s not like we played Collingwood, it was Richmond ffs)

Then talking about the inside 50 difference, he blames the ground ball inside 50 and not the entries inside 50… really strange since we just bombed it forward all night

I detest player interviews after losses. Just talk to us when we’ve calmed down through the week haha

Back to earth from clouds. Tigers were better for most of the game and deserved to win. They wanted it more and were better in contest. Disappointing to say the least.

Despite our 4th quarter fight back, Tigers won contested possessions. They were also efficient with set shots. Our 9.15 will not win many games despite 62 inside 50 (Tigers 42).

We reverted to some bad habits under pressure, panicked, a lot of sloppy ball movement, mistakes, dumping ball forward. Tigers rebounded ball quite easily.

We can't win them all. There will be some lapses. This one was a pretty bad one. Some ordinary performances from players. Some lessons to learn, Mac is the first one to review on Mon :) Yes he donated a goal but more worrying for me was his lack of chase, urgency on several occasions early. We are not finished product. Quite contrary.

Best for me - Long, Miller, Rowell, Powell.

Looking forward to re-match in round 21 at home. Hopefully we are still in it.

Next game please. Watch out Swans.

One good outcome - Barrett is jumping off the band wagon.
