Going to be tough for Ross to formulate a game plan against four quarters of random shit kicking. Hard for him to know where the ball is going when we don’t even know where it’s going. I reckon we’re a massive chance if we bring the same pressure around the contest as we did last week.

I get it, but last week was the first time in like 2 years we won center clearances - & i know it was Richmond - but he & Flynn seem to have had some positive influence.

I’d have preferred Allen to come in for Edwards, Gross into the 22 to replace Reid and then have Allan or Hall as the sub

Or if we wanted to maintain 3 tall forwards have J-Will or Shanahan come in for Reid

It’s not immediately obvious who’ll be the sub. Preference would be Owies but that’s probably wishful thinking - Cole the only other option that wouldn’t cause chagrin. Suspect it’ll be Gross again which will no doubt be rather unpopular and rightly so

We’ve also continued to skew older

Every available player who was 25 or older at the start of 2025 has been selected. The four who haven’t (McGovern, Yeo, Sheed and Petruccelle) are all injured, although Sheed and Petch probably wouldn’t be playing if they were available

Of the 10 players 21-24 only Jamieson, Chesser, Bazzo and J Williams haven’t been selected

Leaves us with a season low of 5 players 20 or under at 1/1/25 in the side. Season average has been just over 7 with a high of 9 in R4 (GWS)

Time for the senior players to step up and justify their selection
