Listening to Woosh, I would have thought 3 or 4 changes are almost a certainty.

Obviously Staker is out and Hansen is under pressure but mentions of McKinley and Jones as others under pressure was interesting.

The primary group of potential ins would include Kennedy, Swift, Houlihan, Schofield, Spangher, McNamara, Selwood & Ebert .... which is a fair group.

It certainly will be interesting to see which way they go.

No one has mentioned young Cockie being omitted.

Does this mean everyone thinks he's staying in the side and won't be going back to any rookie list soon?

I don't know enough about him but if he keeps his spot this week I expect him to go ok against the Dees at home which would mean he would probably get a third game in a row the following week against Sydney.

Do people think he is good enough to become a regular midfield option for us right now?

He did enough to warrant a second game this week. I love the kid, he's got a bit of grunt, is quick and has good skills.

Reminds a lot of a young Daniel Chick

If we was used more through the middle against Fremantle, perhaps the result would have been different. 7 Disposals in a quarter set us up really well, used them well and more importantly he created play, would like to see him play as many games as possibile.

More like D.Kerr imo, similar body shape, same in and under style. Quick but not super quick, has great agility.

i know i probably have no right posting in this forum, but i was just stopping by to check the possibly changes for DREAM TEAM...and noticed that no one really calls for Nicoski to get axed.

this guy is an absolute SPUD!! i watch the eagles a fair bit being a west australian and i swear whenever this useless **** gets the ball he sprints forward about 10 meters, looks up and simply kicks the shit out of the ball to who ever is about 55 meters in front of him. whether it be an opposition player, a team mate, or just space..he doesnt give a damn as long as he gets his token long bomb from the HBF to the HF line. i understand he USE to be a good player but the reality of the situation is that he is now a DUD. eagle supporters seem to still beleive he is the player he once was.

I don't like him either, so I'm not part of that.

Agreed. The coaching staff must be losing faith in him also. He just seems to lack composure and confidence when under pressure. As you stated he just slam the ball on his boot without weighing up the situation in front of him and at times absolutely butchers it.

A stint in the WAFL is needed IMO and especially with the likes of Houlihan, McNamara, Davis, Spangher, Swift and Scooter playing so well and pretty much demanding to be picked. It would be a big call for the selection panel to keep persisting with him if he keeps playing like he did on the weekend and deny the younger boys a crack.

I thought Nico played alright on the weekend, he certainly wasn't amongst our worst.

Only contracted until the end of this season, and not in our best 22 going forward imo. We'll see what happens later in the year with him, same with Embley and Hunter.

Good lord.

Will we have any players left at seasons end?? :o

Yeah, we may be able to field a team of 22 most weeks.

Seriously though, It's only 3 players, and I wouldn't retain them because I don't think they are in our best 22 anymore. Can anyone really see Embley, Nicoski and Hunter being a integral part of a deep finals campaign in a few seasons time? Embley's best is long gone, Nicoski isn't that great anymore and Hunter is either still plagued by shoulder problems or just not up to it anymore. A lot of people seem to be against a big cleanout at seasons end, and that's fine. I'd rather we not hang onto some older guys who aren't going to be around much longer anyway though.

Why the hell would we need Seaby in the side against the worst ruck division in the competition in the last few years. John Meesen and the superstar 1 game ex-eagle Paul Johnson in the ruck would get slaughtered by Lynch, let alone them being up against Cox.

Nicoski with the ball looks like a startled roo caught in a road trains headlights. Not sure to go forward, back or sideways. Some players look like they are calm and have time to dispose of the ball, Nicoski looks scared and rushed.

Bones has a slightly different style, he runs like mad up the field like a bull at a gate, and then stops to think.......... and then turns it over.

Nicoski and Bones are goers but just don't use the ball well enough coming out of defense, especially now with midfield zones creating a wall in front of them. In years gone by with more open one on one they had the time and space to kick the ball into, but the game has changed. Thats why small running backs need good footskills and vision, these two don't................so we need to find a couple.

Well I think that Hansen's time is up. I do feel a tad sorry for him as the delivery to the forward line is shocking. But Ash still needs to be able to impact the game more than he does.

Id like to see Kennedy in if he is fit and firing. If not then, I cant believe I am saying htis, I think bringing in Seaby against the Dees might not be a bad idea. Give Seaby most of the rcuk duties and play Cox forward. If just to decrease Cox's workload a bit and give Seaby some confidence.

Staker gone injured. I reckon Embley and Jones are on shaky ground. But would give them both one more week.

In: Kennedy/Seaby, Houlihan
Out: Hansen, Staker

Would love to see Notte or Ebert in for Staker - they can both take a mark and deliver the ball well.

Kennedy for hansen

Schofield was doing a great job as a defensive forward before being dropped for masten but masten played ok.

Would love to see nick nat help out Cox too but we'll have to wait a few more weeks.

out Hansen, Staker

No need to go silly but Hansen should make way. Kennedy the obvious replacement. Give swift a crack see what he can do. Only other to consider would be Brett Jones but i think leaving him in may give him the confidence he needs playing a side like Melbourne. Sam Butler should not be dropped like some are calling for. This bloke should be playing in the midfield rather than a makeshift half forward. His output may be slightly down but play him in the guts against Melbourne and he will repay the faith. 14 of his possessions a game i suggest are more effective than 44 of Priddis/Rosa. He was a key ingredient in 06' premiership year alongside Judd/Cousins/Kerr etc. Watch the qualifyiing finals against WB and Adel if you have forgotten. The kid is polished and poised but is a confidence player and should be given every opportunity. I'l be disappointed if they drop him.

Who the **** is John Meesen

AND HOULIHAN BEFORE SWIFT!

I know Bones and Nicoski have been the wippy dogs but they have not been that bad at rebounding. Nico has near 80% efficency, Bones is lower at just under 70%, Nico how ever has mor clangers.

Problem is with these two along with Hansen, Hunter, Embley, Fletcher, Stenglien is that they won't play in our next GF stint, so they need to justify thier selection on more than just thier reputations. Also ive got the impression that J.Jones though attacking has a far stronger defensive game that Bones and Nicoski ever have, equally spangher is a far better kick than either of those two.
