Back in Gov, Barrass, Hurn, Jetta & Duggan to hold down the back line. In the modern game teams rarely line up 6 forwards, and teams defend as a collective anyway rather than 1 v 1 battles.

Schoey should only come if the match ups make sense, not simply because he's the next defender up.

Nelson no thanks. Love his effort, but he just isn't up to it.

Schofield in for Melb/Hawks is a no brainer

Both with 3ish talls forward

Richmond on the other hand

We can’t play more than two of them - if we do - I can see TB to Riewoldt and Schofield to Caddy - but that doesn’t leave a match up for Gov to work off

We all know LeGod is only in the team cos he's fishing buddies with Hurn

When you're as good as LeGod at fishing, you're just automatically allowed certain things. Football is one of those, and who can blame Hurn for wanting to play with his mentor?

That said, it's important to remember that there's no difference between LeGod's football and fishing ability, since they're both perfect

Almost 450 career goals ....knows how to play

Gets a good opponent too

But that's good. Gov doesn't really do match-ups. Just marks the ball and kicks it backto our mob, mostly.

LeGod doesn't need fishing rods or bait he just invites the fish onboard

Schoey in for Shep as the only change.

I'd kinda like Melbourne to win this week so Schoey has an oppo to arrogantly throw an elbow in the vicinity of that diving prick Oliver again.

Fixed that for you :p

OMeara out for Hawks tips the midfield battle even more in Demons favour. If they learn to kick straight it's all over.

Would be nice to have them rock up feeling smug about beating us in the H&A and then we absolutely smack them and take our arrogant form all the way to the G.

They beat up geelong...

They beat us without darling and jk.

They beat gws in mcg.

Those are not hang your hat on wins. We will kick thier ass next weekend
Like the positivity..they are a different beast since early in season..but here's hoping!

Probably mentioned already, but Simmo signalling changes may include Watson, O.Allen, Nelson
and Schoey no shoe-in, depending on who we play...

Lecras game againt Collingwood was incredibly underrated. He was huge for us.

I spent a large portion of the game watching LeCras line up on the back of the square at virtually every centre bounce and cannot recall him having any impact whatsoever at any of those situations. Appeared to be a planned tactic that didn't work. He hasn't got the pace to get in quick enough to be of any great use and the Pies were happy to let line up there all alone. Can't recall him doing this much in the past and mystified why it was brought out in a final.

He has done this role often, both this season and previous ones, though I agree that he had little impact. Had a pretty average game all round last week but he will be kept in the team because of his experience. To drop Lecras would be a bombshell although his final's record is far from impressive.

I have been roped in to the game tonight.

Not looking forward to a WC-Melb prelim. May be the last weekend of my relationship

Schoey is 100% reliable.
Allen and watsons time will come.

This is not a time to be experimenting.

Simmo thought telling Schoey he wasn't playing in the QF was the hardest thing he's ever done, imagine having to tell him the match committee's picked a debutant ahead of him for a prelim.
