Most players playing on ball/wing at vfl level then come up and play on a forward flank struggle. Bianco was our best most creative player last week and since moving onto a wing he has shone. I’m hoping he plays a wing with sidey more inside or a back flank with Pendles or Daicos playing more mid. Really think he is a good player that can play a lot of afl footy.

Noble takes Quaynor’s spot minding their small forward, and Bianco plays Noble’s minutes on the wing etc.

I’m not a fan of dropping Henry off a couple of quiet weeks. I’m also not a fan of Bianco over Macrae given our clear stoppage deficiency this week. With that said, I’ll back the coaches in - rapt for AJ to get a run.

I’m guessing Pendlebury and Elliott will need to spend a lot more time in the guts this week.

So AJ for Henry, Moore essentially for IQ... and Bianco for Adams lol. Just have to assume that Maynard will go through the guts and Bianco will play off the HBF or else I've got no idea what we're doing.

Crouch being out is great news because although he's no superstar, he's the type of clearance player that would play well against us. Just have to run with Laird/Keays and we'll go a long way.

I did suspect AJ coming I would just mean Elliott plays more through the middle but Henry out blows that theory to a certain extent.

Can't remember the last time I've been this intrigued by how we line up and utilise our players on gameday.

I hope Henry is sub.

Macrae 19 clearances in the VFL the past 2 weeks.

Bianco 4.

While I wouldn't be expecting Macrae to come in and produce those numbers at AFL level yet when your side was nutted in the clearances the week before and will now be without Adams come Saturday I would have thought this was the perfect time to give Macrae an opportunity.

I bet Bianco goes forward and Elliott to the middle. I think that's a dumb move personally (Bianco forward if that happens, i'm ok with Elliott into the middle) but I reckon that's what will happen.

Because Quaynor is out and Bianco has put together a block of excellent games at VFL level. Doesn't mean he will shine or make the grade, but you have to reward performance. (Even with C Brown, until he's not on the list). Otherwise you breed resentment.
If a player isn't up to it he can be as resentful as he Iikes. The elite level is not about protecting hurt feelings.

Rather have seen Sidey stay on the wing, and given Macrae a go in the middle. Bianco has played well at VFL level for most of the year, but seems to find the step up to AFL level difficult. If anytime Bianco needs to show he can cut it at AFL level, it needa to be on Saturday. A poor performance and his chances at senior level maybe disappearing.....

No doubt they'll have their reasons for selecting Bianco over Macrae. Not sure there's been much difference between them over the last couple of weeks so it's likely something as simple as a preference for an outside role v inside role player within the team.

Fan-f******-fabulous news on Ash Johnson. Exclamation mark. I love his wiry athleticism, can't wait to see what he can do.

Ollie Henry is handsome, 19-years-old and living in Melbourne as a Collingwood footballer. Geelong has no attraction for him.

I'm surprised like everyone about Bianco. He doesn't seem a likely type to me, but I'd love to see him come good at the level.

Moore back, IQ gone...I'm having trouble getting a read on us this week, but I'd say a win by just over a kick is a decent bet.

Yes they do.
Putting an undersized defender on a 2m key forward? Did you not watch what Larkey did to him last week? Moore goes to him, and with Thilthorpe also being the least experienced target it means he can play a looser intercept game. Howe and Maynard are faster than Moore, and Tex is only 192cm. Either of them could take him. Fogarty isn’t that fast, and at 195cm Murphy can go with him and won’t be done for height.

No, your matchups make no sense sorry.

Moore to Walker, Murphy to Tilthorpe, Howe to Fogarty.

Hasn't been much mention of it but it's surprising the similarities between their defence and ours.

Butts - 198cm
Murray - 193cm
Dawson - 192cm
Smith - 189cm
Doedee - 187cm

How do they mind Cameron/Cox, Checkers, Johnson?

Moore is our best defender goes to their best forward in Walker. If they win Walker has had a good game.

Murphy picks up the other key forward like he's done since he's returned to the side manning their inexperienced forward.

Howe is a good size and athletic match for Fogarty freeing him up to intercept. I wouldn't be fussed if we switched the Moore/Murphy match-ups but it gives Tex a look in.

Maynard will be needed on a small this week with Quaynor out. Although i'd love to see him on-ball.

It does make sense. There are different ways to skin a cat.

Moore being our best defender means nothing if his opponent is not a good match up for him. Walker gets more of a look in with Moore on him than Howe or Maynard imo. Moore is quick for his height, but I don’t think he can go with Walker on the lead, particularly coming off a knee injury. You’re also ignoring that Ruscoe is capable of playing IQ’s role.

Yeah, and that decision gets made when you get delisted. Not before. If you're best on ground in the VFL for a few weeks you deserve a chance. Otherwise you ruin the motivation and integrity of selection.

I disagree about Moore. He smokes Tex athletically and should be better placed than anyone to cover his leads. If Moores knee isn't right he shouldn't be playing.

Sure Ruscoe can play IQs role but not as well as Maynard can. Anyway if they go that way with Maynard it may free him up on-ball which is something I've wanted to see all year.

Awesome talent. But he's playing tall forward and the reality is that he's not providing a consistent enough contest to be a lock. We've replaced him with another awesome talent - hopefully he can provide a more consistent contest. Who knows which will be preferred if we make the finals.
Yep we need him fit and full of confidence for the finals, he is basically a first year player, a week in VFL will help a lot
