I thought that was Lipinski's best game for the club. Certainly best for quite a while.

Thought he was very poor for three quarters myself . But definitely did some good work in the last.

I mean they're only one day short vs the first team interstate travellers, and they've all had a bye, but sure, potentially could factor into things.

Edit to add - AJ played against Dogs after a 5 day turnaround from VFL week prior

Apparently Silvagni (and Walsh) were injured so who knows who Carlton will play as second ruck. It could definitely work in AJ’s favour at selection.

Cox is a big game player and that's what next week against Carlton is. He was just about BOG against Carlton in the game that knocked them out of the finals last year.

The Big Fella stays right where he is.

The wet are not good conditions for Cox. I thought Johnno’s agility would’ve been great tonight.
Too often, the Port forwards collapsed into our defensive pack, nudging Moore under. Howe didn’t do enough to come in from behind the marking contest to punch or mark or level the contest. But, I don’t think he’ll get dropped.
Markov’s run would’ve been handy from the start.

I like Mitchell in there especially on a dry deck. I think he stops us leaking stoppage clearances even if he doesn’t get disposals away.

I agree; Kreuger has a massive chance to pounce here. Hopefully he can crack open a lucky coconut now.

Bobby was ****ing awful, and I am an unabashed fan. Still, I think the 23 has taken shape and for the most part they’ll be reluctant to make changes except perhaps working out where our talls sit; Frampton/Cox/Kreuger etc.

He's a bloody good player, but I like JDG, Nick, Pendles and Adams more - and as a one position player, I think he's currently surplus.

Adams may be even better at that though. Stronger and a better tackler.

I think it's going to be a question if Mitchell can't lift. His recent form hasn't been good enough and Adams has been too good in the square to leave him out for Mitchell.

Mitchell stays for a dry track at the MCG, we still need him rotating with Adams to free up JDG.

Markov needs to be in the starting 22 and I just absolutely, cannot see the appeal of Lipinski in this line-up; a line-up that already toes the line of being too slow through the centre. People rave about his footskills and delivery going I50, but it's an old Chinese whisper folktale at this point. Under no pressure he's a tidy kick, at pace or under pressure he's panicky and unreliable. He genuinely marshmellowed about 5 contested situations tonight, too.

If WHE is right to go, he should be the sub and Markov should be in the starting lineup. Lipinski needs to dominant a game or two at VFL level IMO, in a real no man's land at the top level currently.
