Regarding Macrae, are we expecting him to play mostly midfield? Or more forward, with relief minutes in midfield?

I'd suggest Macrae will play midfield (likely on the wing).

Also looks like from his Instagram video that Sier hasn't made the trip as the same time the players were on the flight he was at home playing with his dog.

No Adams and Sier - gee that’s a large loss of big-bodied inside midfield grunt. Thank goodness we can swing Cal Brown in there to fill the void....

Is it really necessary to give Brown a clip? Personally, I think his best position is inside mid.

These are the changes Mick McGuane says are required, abbreviated from the Herald-Sun:

1. Drop Cox
Collingwood loses far too many one-on-one battles in the forward line.

2. Swing Moore into attack
In Collingwood’s past two games it has registered only 13 marks from 105 Inside 50s.

3. Get De Goey one-out
Jordan De Goey will be the one who will benefit most with greater movement around him.

4. Mix up the rucks
Darcy Cameron is another obvious candidate to play as a key forward but also as a relief ruckman, as he was so important against Nic Naitanui in last year’ final.

5. Luck of the Irish
Bring Mark Keane in to play in defence.

6. Be bold with Brown
Why not reinvent Callum Brown as a small defender?

7. Switch Noble’s role
Josh Thomas this year has kicked 2.3 from his four games.

He is miles away from the opportunistic small pressure forward he was in 2018 and 2019, when he kicked 60 from his 48 games in that period.

The other thought is to flip John Noble to be a small pressure forward.

8. Tag Tim Kelly
Levi Greenwood must play to tag Tim Kelly on Friday night, considering Luke Shuey and Elliot Yeo are not in the Eagles’ midfield.

9. Bolster the midfield
Get Tyler Brown to play as an inside-mid, not necessarily on Friday night, but in future planning. Using him on the outside is not his go.

10. Move the veterans around
Throw Steele Sidebottom or Scott Pendlebury back at times to be a part of your back six.

11. Use Daicos’ elite skills
Push Josh Daicos back to his wing role to ensure there is better ball use going forward between the arcs.

12. Let Quaynor use his speed
Isaac Quaynor was good as a deep hybrid defender until last week.

13. Don’t leave Jack down back
Jack Crisp must play midfield more often. He has become a very consistent player irrespective of his role. He references opposition mids quickly which helps bring a sense of accountability to the team in defensive transition.

jmac70 why are you so positive when we are an absolutely rabble!? You don’t need to kiss the clubs ass 24/7. They’ve made some serious mistakes and people are entitled to call them out. Not sure why you’re acting like they have never made a mistake. It’s a bit sad.
I’ve been very open about the mistakes the club has made. In fact, I was one who described our salary cap issues as “criminal mismanagement.” I still believe this and am very angry about it.

I also called on Ed to resign following his ‘Do Better’ gaff.

I still support the club and will continue to hope we can turn things around. I’m not going to turn my back on them after 45 years of passionate support.

I don't think the full squad flew out yesterday? Might be wrong there though

Sier could be on another flight today

I was hyper ventilating with anxiety till I read that Callum would be there to fill the void left by Sier and Adams. Then I totally chokedddddddddd .... 🚑

Is that Mick McGuane’s subtle way of advertising that he’s available for a coaching gig?

Agree with this except drop Cox. He’s still a good second ruck with a forward presence just shouldn’t be the main man up there.

im not saying you should turn your back, but surely you can understand posters frustration. We look like we are staring down a Melbourne / Carlton level rebuild.

The hysteria around Collingwood this week is ridiculous. I know it has happened many times before, and it'll happen again, but gee whiz the media are literally writing a new story every 3 hours.

Crazy to think if Zac Bailey missed that set shot we'd have the same record as Richmond and I've got no doubt this wouldn't be happening yet.

Likewise if we win tomorrow night we'll go to bed Saturday night with the exact same W/L ratio as either Richmond or St Kilda 🤯

That doesn't really say much, given only some left yesterday. The rest will leave this morning.
