I sort of agree with you. Esava may not have marked the ball but on a few occasions he was able to, in the resulting scrimmage, get the ball to one of all other forwards and a goal resulted. It may have been a hand pass, a push out or putting his body over the ball for a forward to have a clear run at the ball. It wasn’t pretty but it provided a goal scoring opportunity. And remember he’s a big guy. Do any of the above plays get recorded on Esava’s stats sheet?Structurally the team looked way better with Esava forward last year. The move coincided with the teams return to form (prior to finals capitulation)
