Just because Goldstein is out doesn't mean we can't win.

Thrashed the Tigers last year without him.

Too much loser mentality. Scott's bullshit is rubbing off on the supporter base it seems.
I agree. We can win but sadly we have a coach who is struggling a touch at the minute. That doesn't go in our favour. :stern look

Now seems like a good time to remind everyone that nobody within the football department has ever used the term "aggressive reset".

Not sure that we should be panicking because we didn't give up on the season after one bad half of football.
So JB was talking out of turn?

Big Roo in serious doubt after training injury
April 1, 2017 12:52 PM

STAR North Melbourne ruckman Todd Goldstein is in serious doubt to face Geelong on Sunday at Etihad Stadium after leaving Friday's training session on crutches.

Goldstein, 28, was hampered by an ankle concern during the pre-season.

The severity of his current injury is not yet known.

It marks another injury blow for the Kangaroos, who will also be without experienced forward Jarrad Waite after he was sent for shoulder surgery following the round one loss to West Coast.

Developing big man Brayden Preuss was dropped from the side to face the Cats but was named as an emergency. North's other emergencies are Mitchell Hibberd and Declan Mountford.

Majak Daw was brought into the side for his first game of 2017.

Tagger Ben Jacobs (foot) and promising forward Mason Wood (hamstring) are other best 22 players on the sidelines for North.

If Goldy is out, "Cometh the hour, cometh the Man" go Preussy, and maybe a bit of centre square collateral damage along the way (Dangerfield)
Yeah happy to see Pruess play 2 games in a row albeit because of an injury to Goldy.
Hope its not the same ankle injury that Goldy played with last year.

So JB was talking out of turn?

Not a single thing has been done to indicate that we're in the middle of an "aggressive reset" since JB made those comments, so either he was out of turn or we've completely backflipped.

The former seems more likely considering how our trade period went.

A faster squad could help us. I watched us in Hobart without Goldstein last year and best we've played for some time.

Ruckman are overrated, Hawks, Swans and Cats have been dominant with rubbish rucks, midfield and spine far more important.

I think if Goldy is out, Preuss would be in. Which would make us slower and give us less run.

We will bring in preuss which will make us slower.
Daw won't be able to compete with smith, Blicavs and Stanley. He would be cooked by quarter time.

Lets see the teams first. Our 3 tall forward structure Scott insists upon is shithouse so this means we can try something different, faster. Preuss in ruck with Brown and Daw fwd could work fine.

Not sure about that. Goldy was plodding all preseason and wasnt exactly killing it round 1 either.

Yep. Been a draft horse for a while now.

Goldy on crutches, April fools day joke

I don't see the big deal. I swear Goldy is still underdone and unfit. Barely did anything through the JLT series and round 1

Hurry up and put him through surgery ffs it's been since mid last year! Fix it up, let daw and pruess get some game time
Should of traded him while he was still worth something.

Hamish McIntosh Mrk2

Over-reaction? Maybe.... Maybe not

but mostly maybe

This board voted Goldy our best player of rd 1...

I was genuinely excited for this season and yeah I know we haven't even played game 2 but i feel like all we do at the kangas is talk a big game & not much else :(

I am all for trying something different. But a structure of Goldstein, daw, and brown is quicker than preuss, daw and brown.
Happy to change it up, just not sure where you're getting this faster business from.

Kicking three goals is barely anything?

Wow, I would like to see what is considered something.

If Goldy is indeed injured and warranting a withdrawal, I assume Preuss gets the main ruck gig? I would of thought Maj has shown that he is quite exciting through the ruck, and looks more a natural footballer than say when he's playing forward.
