Out: Kelly, Hamill, Rowe
In: McAsey, Worrell, Berry

Sub: Mackay or Kelly

I'm ready. Fight me on dropping Kelly to fix our defensive structure.

We need Doedee in Kelly's role and a true KPD in Doedee's role.

I expect to be called a hater but the structure hasn't worked for weeks and dropping a small for a KPD would make us interminably slow down back
Kelly’s form is much better then Browns and mcPherson, I’d drop them well before Kelly

The thing with Fog is he doesn't have the ability and speed of Jones. He has to be at the front of th stoppage or he'll be left for dead.

The times he got the pill he was Infront of his opponent and got a yard of space.
Like Petracca, his first 5-10 metre is actually very quick to allow him to put a gap in his opposition, settle and use his elite kicking or just run through his opponent with his brute size. He did this a few time yesterday but not enough as he doesn't have the endurance of Petracca.

It's really not, he relies on anticipation which he doesn't yet possess in the midfield

I’d drop McPherson, Rowe, Lynch and Hamill injured. Bring in Jones, Worrell, Newchurch and Berry.
FB Brown Butts Doedee
HB Jones Worrell Smith
C Sholl Keays Seedsman
HF Shoey Walker McHenry
FF MacAdam Tilly Newchurch
Fol Rob Laird Hately
Int. Berry Murphy Kelly Fog

I know Jones isn’t in good form but maybe give him a go at HB where the ball is coming to him and he doesn’t have to make the play, plus Brown, McP are in bad form. Berry adds some pressure on the ball and Newchurch has some pace so why not give him a go. Worrell needs to be rewarded for good form and adds flexibility

You also dropped the Berg too. ;)

What’s the most challenging role Kelly has ever played?
Has locked down on plenty of players & this week should play on the match winning Greene.

I can't recall him ever playing on a good forward

Would be great if he can hold his own vs Greene though. If he can be our go to defender for those mid-size forwards or mids who push forward at times (Greene, Martin, Bont, De Goey, Stringer) he'll become invaluable to us

Hasn't he played on Danger?

If he's ever going to do it, it'll be this week.

In decent form, looking strong and trying to develop a more attacking edge.

Big test, Greene is a superstar

Im surprised they've never tried him in the middle. May have missed the boat now though if he's struggling for pace after injuring his ankle.

Me too, even in a lock down role.
Has worked out well( midfield minutes)with Laird.

2 of those FA weren't there though. A non-throw that was called one and a HTB that wasn't.

That's ok, I reckon I saw a couple that weren't called lol.
Love the enthusiasm but he really does need to clean up his pressure game a bit.

Has he?

Fair enough. I've always seen him on the recent draftees and fringe players
Yes, has done ok on Danger.

Played on Dusty too.

Rarely gets smashed defensively... his issue is offensive.

its about time someone said it, I reckon he should be playing every game replacing Lynch.

Agree Flank.Give him a third of the field to play in might work.
Ball always in front of him, running a tighter corridor.

He does look a bit lost having to run here, there and everywhere in the middle

He's played on Gunston but it did not go well.

Has done well vs the GWS Himmelberg in the past.

Gunston is a good 6 or 7cm taller than Dusty and Danger.

Himmelberg doesn't play particularly tall.

Cameron was a lot different from Newchurch. He had intensity in a contest and high level defensive pressure, which from what I've seen of Newchurch, he doesn't yet possess. Much easier for Newchurch to be exposed at afl level imo.
Honestly I would not be expecting to see Newchurch this year at all in our AFL side and it may be the back end of next season if the powers to be decide to retain him before he might get a look in. Just needs to get his full game workrate right up and if he does, it will allow his undoubted talent to shine

Yeah... but expose the kid to a couple of games of AFL and when his intensity and defensive pressure is shown to be well below AFL standard.. get the tape out and show him where he’s going wrong and explain that if he is to make it he needs to improve these parts of his game.

give him a taste in front of a massive adelaide crowd then send him away to work on his faults.

kid has xfactor, talent and a ton of speed. Get him in.. he will provide more than Rowe is at the moment and he might also learn something more than he ever could in the SANFL.

The SANFL isnt really teaching these lads anything at present.. we have too many injuries to our AFL players and far too many spud top ups..

whats to lose?..

Yeah maybe. I guess I don't really care about this year's results anyway. Rowe hasn't offered much anyway
