Extremely harsh on Fogarty to say it's his fault if his career is over given how we've dealt with his development.

Was it his fault he couldn't get a game when we played him as a defender for the first time ever?

Partially yes.

He's never really ripped the SANFL to shreds, and while that's certainly not the be all and end all, he's never done it.

Because we're setting him up to fail.

He's a forward. So we randomly ask him to play midfield, bring him in after like 2 tries in the SANFL, then drop him after 3 AFL games.

And we're wondering why he may not be doing what's required

I agree the midfield thing was a waste of time. I'm not sure he makes the side as a forward on merit though. I'd have him in over Billy but Tex and Himmelberg provide more imo. Maybe he could he replace McAdam but we'd be giving up some mobility and presence in the air.

I cant feel sorry for stinking it up for 5 weeks in the afl and then playing one good SANFL match, if he continues to rip it in the SANFL he could consider himself unlucky.

I'll give you the injured players part, but this is Mackay's second game, both due to injury to Brown aka another experienced player, more than half the 22 this weekend has less than 20 games experience, I think you should give it a rest.

So we bitch and moan about not persisting with young/inexperienced players when they come in but when we do it with Billy, it's suddenly a massive issue.

Neither of these things show our goal is 'scraping into 8', deep breaths, it's fine.

The melts are all centered around Mackay and completely ignore the rest of the team and other selections this week. There are people calling it the worst forward structure despite it being the 4th most potent attack in the league this year. Any sort of reasonable discussion on this board goes at the window when Mackay is selected.
