We are chasing long term not short so I say no change , let those who have had a 3-4 years in the system with the opportunity to redeem themselves before they are stamped !

i will start on their forward line.
dwes cloke and brown means three tall defenders. preferably mobile big bodied tall defenders.
options are limited atm but we do have two talls and its a bit of a risk for a few reasons form not the least of it, who have some size and are strong in the air.
personally id take the punt put gourdis on dawes, post on brown and keep grimes on cloke.

dave astbury from what i can gather is shot, just two touches is not good. perhaps give him a change of scenery and play him forward or preferably send him to coburg dont know if we are in a position to drop him though.

would structure up forward with jack vickery and astbury at least structure up for flexability. and then put some skillful players at their feet.

would definately drop graham just a bum.

two of white nahas edwards just have to go. some others are real lucky.connors is one.

some of the ins maybe derickx or brown,is derickx injured. a genuine small forward maybe macdonald or jakobi, some genuine ball winners and size tuck for sure maybe contin. maybe someone to add a bit size and run of hb orielly or dea. give conca a break from down back and give him a go on a wing.
will make my mind up when i actually see the game.

at the end of the day we are a young side we do expect some beatings thru the season its going to happen but we do need to structure up properly and we do need to stop playing ordinary footballers. footballers who have had plenty of time.

Gus is the obvious one, fair dinkum useless, I reckon xav ellis would towell him in ruck and marking contests...would like to see Browne come in.

hopefully webberely plays another decent one to give conca a rest...tbh against collingwood it will be all about limiting the damage, Id bring miller in for sure

Does it really matter this week? Its akin to shuffling the deckchairs on the Titanic, the only changes I'd make is for any injuries otherwise just go with the same lineup and forget about what the scoreboard says.

Just got home from the game.... was the result I expected going in if it was dry but we honestly have played worse at times in the last 2 weeks and got closer.

Couple of things that may not have showed on tele.

a) Grimes did pretty well, Franklin's first 2 weren't his fault and the snapped goals would have been kicked on anyone, we don't have anyone that quick. I would like to see the number of spoils made by Grimes tonight, seemed to do well in quite a few one on ones with Buddy. The other thing that helped Buddy was that when he pushed up the ground, Dimma's instruction to Grimes was to let him go and pick him up on the way back in. I think this backfired as Buddy got a heap of loose ball.... but that was a DH call, not Grimes.

b) Astbury did a really good job on Roughead. He was only beaten in a 1 on 1 once, twice max, which resulted in 1 goal (the last of the game which was in junk time). Roughead first goal came through a mistake by another Tiger (can't remember who.... but it had nothing to do with Astbury) and I remember commenting on it at the time that now he had a goal when he had done nothing to deserve it. The 2nd goal came from a crumb off the boundary throw in which we were abysmal at all night... Astbury perhaps not experienced enough at defending big forwards who do that sort of crumbing.... he certainly won't get that experience playing at Coburg. He doesn't get much of it but he is primarily there to stop a forward and he did a good job. He will continue to improve.... patience people.

As for changes for the Pies game.... I'd give Conca a rest and maybe bring in a taller defender/swingman. Maybe give Post a shot or Dea if they want a small. I'd leave Tuck out but bring him in for round 5. Morton should be played up the ground next week. Edwards could be in trouble and Houli will need to play well in the next couple to keep his place.

Oh yeah and Thursfield should not play another senior game for the club unless every other tall is out..... he is finished as a Tiger.
