nason will be in after his game at burgers- why was he not in before fumbles edwards is beyond me.

defenders will be in for a re shuffle.

morton did nothing at coburg.

goo not far away after a good game at coburg.

post not far away as mt bars up.

Might have to wait another week for Post. Reckon Miller will get another game and Post could do with another good one. Would like Webberley to get a game soon too

North look very tired already and it's only early in the 3rd quarter. They are going to struggle to back up from a hot game in Perth. I think we should pick a fast-running team, which is why I would like Nason in. Tuck might have to wait.

If my hunch is on the money, the team will start taking on a similar look to the team that went on the winning streak last year. I am convinced that the brains trust have used the first 4 games against the top flight to see which of the newbies warrant a continued look in the 1s, while preserving players that were part of that winning streak team of last year, so we can be competetive deeper into the season.
So in Tuck,Nason, Webberley, Rance, Moore(if ready), McGuane.
Out Grimes(purely to get confidence), Hellbig, Thurst, Miller, Nahas.

What became clear in the first 4 rounds is that we have found another 2 to add to the can do list.
Batchelor and Conca. To me that is a top result so far from the last draft. Anything else is a bonus.

You can start laying the cash on the tigers from now dudes...I am tipping we are the best bet of the week and will win. ;)

If there are any gamblers out there now is the time to back us for the eight, otherwise you will rue the decision for the rest of the year,

Edwards out. Should have been dropped last week. I'd like to Nason come in. At least he will cover some territory.
McGuane comes in for Thursfield or Grimes.
Tuck needs to play. He comes in for Helbig, who needs a few full games at Coburg before coming back in.

Agree Tugg, Nason for Edwards, McGuane for Grimes, Tuck for Helbig. Make no mistake, i have only two expectations for next Sunday, a gutload of chocolate, and to belt the song out as we bring home 4 points to Tigerland.

Wouldn't mind seeing Dea come in for Edwards, as it could give us the ability to free Deledio up a bit more. I'd also keep Grimes in and replace Thursfield with McGuane.

This far out I think the match commitee will go with:

OUT: Thursfield, Grimes and Edwards
IN: Rance, McGuane and Morton

Close to a game are Dea, Webberley, Nason, Browne and Post.

If Nahas is injured we have options in Nason or Webberley to come in.

Really would like to see Dea get a game soon to match up on the small forwards, would release Deledio up the ground placing Batchelor on a half back. I think Dea, Newman and Batchelor can generate enough run from the backhalf. All are solid, hard, tough defenders with good kicking skills. Suddenly from the start of the year we would of added Deledio, Morton and Conca to our midfield rotation. That's positive.

We started the year with Rance and McGuane as the two tall defenders, we will do so again. Will free up Astbury to be that third tall creative player. Our structure will be better in defence.

I think the area we will get North is with our clearances and stoppages and if we maintain Dimma's press that has worked well against Collingwood (for a quarter and a bit), Carlton (for a quarter and a bit) and St.Kilda (three quarters). We can do that aginst North for at least 3 quarters we should taste victory.

If we start better than we have been and this should be a victory. North's skill levels are diabolical. Worst than ours. We have a midfield that should be too strong. Will be a tough game, always have trouble beating this mob, but I think we definitely have gone past them. More match winning potential. Tipping us by 13 points.

Most concerning will be the Easter Sunday crowd. We generally hate Etihad stadium, families will be missing because of the day, North don't generate any support. Could be the lowest crowd we have experienced for a while.

Well maybe the families should lift their game

well it's not stopping me from getting to etihad at 4:40
Plenty of people go away at Easter madness. It's not a crime mate. Plus it's an extra, extra long weekend this weekend.
We are staying put (purely because we spent so much money getting married in NYC in Feb) and I will be there, but most of my mates are off camping or going away and I feel that will be the norm.

Agree MT. I thought Thursty did a great job. Grimes should be dropped now that Rance and McGuane are available. He's still at best 5th in line for KPD. People saying Nahas will be dropped are kidding themselves. No way Dimma will drop him after one bad game when he's obviously worked so hard all pre season. He might be the sub though.

Yeah...... nah, Goo was shit today and got towelled up by dud Thornton, his disposal was horrendous and kicked a couple out on the full, had to be moved into the forward line because he was playing so shit.

Wouldn't hold your breath on Gourdis SC, was terrible today against Thornton, out marked on several occasions by Thornton and his kicking was terrible, had to be moved forward to stop the bleeding and had to move Post into the backline.

Ok here's my updated changes:

In: Mcguane, Rance, Nason, Post, Browne
Out: Nahas, Edwards, Graham(rest), Grimes(unlucky), Miller(unlucky)

Would rather play a future player in Post than Miller. Give Miller games while Post/Griffiths are injured or have been injured and are at Coburg getting some form/fitness. Post needs to be fast tracked at afl level and left in the team for a while. Grimes showed good signs, but Mcguane and Rance are still ahead of him for now. Graham has done ok, but Browne deserves a game too. Give Graham a rest and force him to work on his overhead marking

Wow I had a completely different perspective on the Goo's game today. Did you hear him get a huge thumbs up from the coach at quarter time? I thought he didn't let anyone get an easy grab, and didn't see him shank any kicks... Maybe I'm biased.

White has beaten or broke even with all 4 of his opponents this year and you want to drop him, good call. Nahas will get another week, although he could be the sub, only way he will miss is through injury.

Also there is no way they will drop Graham, rucking about 85% of the game with small breaks from Vickery and neither Derickx or Browne are fit enough to do that at the moment, especially Derickx given that he has only just come back from a leg injury, will be out of gas before 1/4 time.

Finally given Gourdis was towelled up by Thornton today I doubt he'll be getting a run either, reckon McGuane will come straight back in, and although I'd prefer it to be for Thursfield I reckon it will probably be Grimes that goes out. In fact wouldn't be surprised to see both Grimes and Thursfield out for McGuane and Rance.

Nope didn't see Goo get the thumbs up, but Thornton definitely towelled him up, kicked 3-4 goals on him and Gourdis shanked 2 kicks out on the full and had to be moved Forward to stop the bleeding.

Did everyone watch the same game I did... Why the hell would Gus get dropped?

In: McGuane, Rance, Tuck, Nason
Out: Grimes, Edwards, ?, ?

Got heaped with praise at quarter time, the only one singled out. He came off injured and then went back on up forward, so actually wasn't playing on Thornton the whole match. I don't reckon this was "to stop the bleeding," I think they just want to try out him and Post at either end. His disposal in the first half was very good. I missed the last quarter and a bit though.
