edit: had a bit more time to think about it.

c.beams and harwood have been reasonable in one on one contests and ground balls but they are providing no run at all out of defense, maybe one more chance for them although i wouldn't be averse to sending them back to the resies now to find some run and put hanley and rich back to provide run carry and leadership i think both of them on the whole are better behind the ball not in front. they have the odd game good in the mids but would be more consistent off half back IMO.

What about Walker? the team can't keep tolerating that. One good game against GC when he played as an improvised ruck, apart from that.... Today we saw Dixon and Westhoff hit the scoreboard, while Walker can't even take a mark.

I was leaning towards bringing freeman in for walker. And would still consider it. But would prefer walker at this stage as he can chop out in the ruck.

Yeah, I don't know about Freeman, from all reports he is struggling to get a touch in the reserves.

We looked completely cooked half through the second qtr today. We have a six day break for Pies game. We need fresh legs and quick runners.

NO way known can we accept this type of non performance week in week out. At U 16 levels players are taught to bring consistent effort throughout games from 1/4 to 1/4. We have some blokes running around with their heads lodged where the sun don't shine! The excuse peddled out last fortnight about the Bulldogs performance sounded alarm bells to me and the players must be called out on the one thing they can control in a game. EFFORT!
If we are to move forward a line must be drawn! I remember hearing Wallace tell his players if they accept a pat on the back after a loss he'd spew! This resonates with me about our culture! Our club culture is not strong because we live in fear of upsetting or losing support if home truths are told. Look at Rocky last year when he supposedly told players that standards were not good enough and they had to lift! Interesting that Hodge supported his approach and referred to the point that he set standards and upset people all the time who weren't meeting his standards. We fear walk outs and press scrutiny so we continue accepting the club being directed people who may not really care whether we improve. It guarantees their existence!
This may sound like a rant but tough questions need to be asked and knowledgeable answers provided to direct our improvement.

Agree. The ressies mids are about as bad as ours though so hard to gauge key forwards outputs.

Merrett has let us down again,and won't be there next year,let the kids grow without the unnecessary disruption.

Yep Matho and McGrath definitely would give these kids a run, (but I think McGrath may have re-injured in his leg).

I would love to see more selection dilemmas when it comes to picking the side on Thursday nights. I think we have to many players in the seniors who are a tad comfortable because we don't have anyone really pushing for selection.

Where's Jarrad Jansen, Trent West, Jackson Paine? Are these blokes doing anything in the Ressies?

So many on this boardhave been knocking Taylor ,never have we looked so slow, and now having seen today's appalling wipe out ,want him back !

Walker's ready for the scrap heap. Our ball movement toady was comparable with a struggling VFL side. I take no pleasure in pointing it out either.

Shuffle Rich to the backline sick of him being a passenger every damn game. Doesnt have a high footy IQ as he is always stuck in no mans land. Hopefully playing behind the ball allows him to actually work a bit harder. Andrews needs a rest and bring in Paine as a replacement. Rest are self explanatory.

I'd be bringing Green, Taylor and Merrett in. Probably Rockliff, C.Beams and McStay for the outs.

Our forward line has been poor but the delivery has been worse. I think Walker provides a contest (even if he's well down on form) and is better than the alternatives. On performance you could easily drop 5-6 but I highly doubt that's the way we'll go.
