Not sure how Daniel Merret has let anyone down when he was withdrawn due to illness?
Wasn't a good game to watch at all.
Darcy and Harris may have made some errors, but far out! Not many backlines would stand up to the bombarding those guys are copping atm.
From what I can see is from the outside (let's face it we are all armchair experts) we struggle with defensive running. Generally run well in attack, but hobble somewhat at a turnover.
The games that we win or that we are competitive, we run and we are aggressive. Strong at stoppages and around the ball.
Today not much of that.
Changes?? Don't know!
But we all know what the definition of insanity is....

I'm sure this has been said, but I feel the criticism of Walker is a bit much with the supply (quantity and quality) that he's getting. Was never going to be a superstar forward but his position isn't on the line in my opinion. Especially not when Freeman is struggling to get 5 touches in his most recent NEAFL performance.

You're right on the money with the defensive running. Over and over again when we play away from home and we are getting beaten up it's because players don't work hard enough and that comes down to running hard both ways. We kick down the line to a pack of players because we have no other option. We threw in the towel yesterday when things got to hard.
That's why i think we need some fresh legs this week. Inject some pace off the bench to provide us with run.

This is why we miss Cuts so much. Unfortunately, he is our only real defender willing to take the game on. Agree with Rog, whilst we don't have another mature age defender, guys like Harris, Paps, Mcstay to a point although his work ethic has been non existent for a while now, need him back there. Andrews is the only one I feel remotely confident with at the minute.
That first goal westhoff kicked against Mcstay was one of the weakest efforts one on one I've seen for a while.

If Cuts is good to go which I doubt, in for Claye. Had enough chances I feel.Maybe bring back Taylor, although the coaches may want him to spend a week in the 2s considering we had the bye. Would need to reshuffle defence if he came in for Claye.
Walker gets a reprieve only for the fact we have Noone in any sort of form to replace him.

Sorry but Walker given plenty of chances to keep his spot and consistently lets the team down. Put him in the 2's for 2-3 weeks, then bring him back in once he regains confidence in marking/creating space/kicking. In the meantime, we keep saying we need to give our young guys some experience & games under their belt, so, lets give one of those boys an opportunity. (ie. Hammelman, Hipwood, Freeman) Lets face it, anyone could have more of a positive impact than Walker has over the last few games.

Well reading the Collingwood board they have nothing to come in with Aish, Reid and Broomhead coming out injured. If we can't win and win well heads should roll, I don't know whose, but someones should.

McStay could actually be alright pinch hitting in the ruck since he has such a great vertical leap. I really want him in the team, because his foot skills and marking are above AFL standard, but what kills me is his effort.

I think the club is set on Mayes either magically becoming a defender or simply just leaving the club.

I don't understand Hanley in the forward line. I guess he's got goal sense but why are we essentially playing two players out of position there (Keays and Hanley at times) when we've got a natural HFF stuck in defence permanently?

Keays has been going great to his credit but the Mayes situation doesn't make sense to me.

Obviously the club know what's best going forward, have way more information then us.

The reason Daniel Merrett got gastro is that he doesnt know how to wash his hands....

Not the fact that he spends nearly every day showering, eating and training with about 50 other blokes, its becuase he doesnt understand basic hygiene.
